Quilt Preparation

Preparing Your Quilt for Machine Quilting:

1. All quilt tops should be washed and pressed with all seams trimmed and ironed flat.

2. Identify the head and foot of the quilt, if necessary.

3. Backing and Batting, if supplied by customer, must be at least 6” larger than the quilt      top in both length and width.

4. Make sure the quilt top, batting and backing are square.

5. Do not pin or baste top/batting/backing together.

6. The quilt top and backing should be clipped of loose threads, both front and back.          Lighter colored fabrics, loose threads will show through.

7. Check quilt top for seam breaks, making sure all seams are stable.
