Kraken-class Plasma Missile Submarine (C) If Hope Dies
The remarkably silent Kraken-Class Plasma missile Submarine is currently in operation worldwide. Many have been discovered waiting dormant off the coasts of several nations, a testament to their ability to slip past sonar nets unnoticed and unmolested. Essentially a submerged computer, the Krakens serve only one purpose: to infiltrate enemy waters and shower their enemy with warheads, giving little or no warning before launch. Carrying 34 independent missiles, the Krakens can send these weapons to multiple targets, where they again split into multiple warheads to attack up to170 locations total. The guidance systems for this submarine are excellent, making it almost impervious to human error during launch.
After Compartment: Engine Room: Occupying the aft quarter of the submarine, all the propulsion machinery and the plasma reactor are located here. Missile Room: Between the Forward Compartments and the Engine Room, the missile room holds all 34 of the Kraken’s ballistic missiles. Forward Compartment: Control Room/Attack Center: Located in the center of the ship under the sail, navigation, weapons/missile control, the sonar room and observation are controlled here; Mess Decks, Berthing, and Wardroom: The crew’s living quarters are in the middle and lower levels of the forward compartment; Torpedo Room: The middle level of the forward compartment is the central weapons storage area, holding torpedoes; Sonar: The KJ-D Sonar array is set into the nose of the vessel.

GMS DaggerHydra-class Attack Submarine (C)
Shaped like near-perfect cylinders, the Hydra-Class Attack Submarines are notorious for having highly-trained crews to compensate for inferior machinery. While quick and agile, the Hydra is noisier than most submarines due to its use of nuclear power rather than plasma, and because of this, it cannot travel at its highest rated speeds, thereby reducing its advantage. Where it lacks in acoustical performance, it makes up for in weapons systems and veteran crews. Its six torpedo tubes can launch a series of six shots per minute, littering the water with shots in an effort to find and destroy its prey. The torpedoes themselves are safetied using an advanced sonar system that allows them to identify the target, and disarm if it determines that target to be friendly, thus decreasing the possibility that a Galbadian sub will be killed by friendly fire. The sub is loaded with Fastitocalon torpedoes and Droma Cruise Missiles. Its sail, set far up on the ship, is heavily armored to break through ice packs, allowing it superior performance in polar environments. All Hydras are currently being recalled in cycles to have their nuclear reactors refitted with quieter plasma reactors. They also have a system called SightTrack, which offers a visual imaging of the ocean floor, allowing for better navigation. They currently operate on a 140 day cycle, with a resupply time of 24 days.
After Compartment: Engine Room: All propulsion machinery and the nuclear reactor are located in this huge chamber, which takes up the entire rear half of the submarine. Forward Compartment: Control Room/Attack Center: Near the middle of the ship, navigation, weapons control, the sonar room and observation are controlled here; Mess Decks, Berthing, and Wardroom: The crew’s quarters are in the lower level of the forward compartment; Torpedo Room: The upper level of the forward compartment is the central weapons storage area, holding torpedoes, mines, and cruise missiles; Sonar: The GG-6 Sonar array occupies the entire nose of the vessel.

GNS OeilvertSahagin-Class Frigate (C) If Hope Dies
The giant frigates of the Galbadian Navy are adept at conducting surface warfare against any and all opponents. A powerful and heavy-hitting ship while battling close in, the Sahagin-Class frigates are content to rely on their myriad weapons systems and powerful computer-aided targeting computers to deliver shots that count in any surface battle. Boasting several large cannons, along with an array of cruise missiles, SAMs and torpedoes, the ships can attack any and all targets presented. While primarily an offensive weapon, the frigates have often been utilized for port defense, using their EWSAR (Early Warning Surface and Air Radar) System to its full advantage in detecting threats. The EWSAR can generate radar returns at over 300 miles, but its capabilities are hindered by inferior long-range targeting programs. The ship is driven by a pair of screws, each with its own rudder. A quartet of modified Juravis helicopter provides air support for the frigate, carrying AA-9 Slider Air-to-Air Missiles into the fight to support shipboard evolutions, as well as to discourage enemy subhunter helicopters such as the Chocobo.

Primarily used for anti-submarine operations and escort duties, the Armstrong-Class destroyer is a small and agile ship, but maintains substantial armor, and is often used as a shield for its larger companions, the Sahagin-Class Frigates. Armstrongs will actually place themselves in the path of incoming torpedoes to suffer the blow, and are capable taking several shots before sinking. The destroyers are equipped with several countermeasures to augment their use. High-powered sonar assemblies dot the lower decks of the ship, capable of sending out a massive web of active pings in order to locate evading submarines. Once found, the Armstrong can launch torpedoes from its bow and stern, as well as two stations each on its port and starboard sides. A pair of M-9 Juravis helicopters assist in tracking down enemy subs, and can hunt and kill them in concert with the Armstrong’s sonar array. The boat is powered by an extra-large plasma reactor that powers twin screws.
