Put on the Full Armor of God
As I put on this helmet let me remember that my salvation is unsinkable, unstoppable and irreplaceable. As it covers my mind let me remember to guard my thoughts knowing that they are the start of any action I will take today.
When I slip on the breastplate of righteousness let me remember that this covering was bought and paid for by Jesus himself. He wasn't kidding when he said no weapon formed against us would prosper. Nothing is getting through this covering. Jesus blood was not only sufficient it was above and beyond. He gave more than enough to cover the nastiest sinner.
Before I leave this morning I will gird my loins with truth. Since we are all so easily tripped up in these areas I will remember that Satan loves to attack here and be very sure that I am prepared. It IS important that I remain pure in thought and deed in this area. Nothing will lead to my downfall spiritually faster than letting this area remain unprotected.
I will shod my feet with the gospel of peace. My attitude towards others must be one of understanding and grace. God has granted me so much. How can I not share a little of that grace in my dealings with others? No matter what happens I will look to the other side of the situation before I respond. I will not respond out of anger or frustration.
I now take up the shield of faith so I may defend the arrows of the enemies. Again I am reminded that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. God has given me the faith to deal with everything that comes my way. Remember that this shield of faith is a covering of God and by faith in God. Satan's arrows are not allowed through his unpenetrable field. The position of faith is one of prayer. Remember that there is no need to retreat I must only go down on my knees to be fully covered by the shield.
My weapon is the sword of the Lord. God's word contains all the bullets I need to shoot down the plans of my enemy. Satan can have no valid reply to God's word. Remember Jesus quoted scripture to defeat the devil too. I must be ready with a word from God. He has prepared it all for me. I must be a good student so I can find the right scripture when I need it.
Retreat is not covered here. There is no armor for the back because God wants me to face the day head on. I am now protected by the full armor. Bring on the day.
