Chester City 0 - 1 Southport
This was my first football match since I got back from
Thailand and Chester's fifth of the season. They saved their worst performance
of the season so far to mark my return to watching them (typical). I took my
camera along and got a few good pictures. Unfortunately the best "action
shot" is of Southport scoring a penalty.

We met in the Woodlands for a few beers before the game.
From the left; Chiv, Bill, Stuey, Pete and Ralph. |
The home of Chester City, the Deva Stadium. A 6000 capacity
ground built at the end of a one-way street just to cause traffic chaos. |

Just about to kick off in this pic. |
What a picture! It's just a shame that Southport are
scoring, not Chester. |

A second half Chester free kick sails over the cross-bar. |
A second half Chester attack is thwarted by the Southport
'keeper. |

After the game it's back to the pub. I hope you like my new
Croatia football shirt. In the evening me and Niki went back to the pub to
watch England against France on the big screen telly. Stuey had stayed in
the pub all evening and was bladdered. He let the world know his opinion
of Michael Owen. Then Owen scored the England equaliser. It didn't shut
him up though. |
