The  trek
"This gives you a fair idea of the 'trek'.  We had 4 guns, & 1 ammunition waggon following each gun.  There are 6 horses to each gun & four to each waggon that makes 40.  Then we had 2 waggons & a 
cart for the baggage which took another 7 horses.  Which made 47 draught horses & there were 
thirty eight hacks for the officers & specialists.  That is signallers, rangefinders, scouts etc. so 
altogether we had 85 horses on the road."  (written on back of photograph - about 1917)
