Ross to the rescue - he found a badly injured woman who had fallen down a cliff ( see article )

Ross is a German Shepherd cross who was diagnosed as having severe hip displasia and arthritis in 1998.
We have been giving him the green-lipped mussel extract since then.
So far, his lameness has greatly improved, although the damage already done to his hip joints cannot be reversed.

His back legs are giving him a bit more trouble (July 2000), and we are now trying a new treatment from Australia, called Pentosan 100.  About 6 months after the treatment he is still running around like a mad thing.   About a year later (Winter 2001) his legs were playing up again, so he has had another course of Pentosan.
