CISA designation

CISA stands for Certified
Information Systems Auditor. The CISA certificate is awarded to professionals
who have passed the CISA exam, have a minimum of 5 years experience in the
fields of Information Systems Auditing and who abide to the Professional Ethics
of ISACA. To keep the title a CISA needs to
follow a continuous education program.
The CISA textbooks cover the
following domains:
- Information Systems Audit Standards and Information Systems Security and
Control Practices
- Information Systems Organization and Management
- Information Systems Process
- Information Systems Integrity, Confidentiality and Availability
- Information Systems Development, Acquisition and Maintenance
ISACA
is the only worldwide organization for EDP auditors. Together with the growing
worldwide interest in certification of professionals, CISA stands a fair chance
to become the minimum required level for EDP auditing.
From the
ISACA website:
"The mark of excellence for a professional
certification program is the value and recognition it bestows on the individual
who achieves it. Since 1978, the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA®)
program, sponsored by the Information Systems Audit and Control Association®
(ISACA™), has been the globally accepted standard of achievement among IS audit,
control and security professionals."
