ITALIAN AMERICAN WOMEN'S CENTER
FOUNDED IN 1997

The Italian-American Women's Center, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization, established in late 1997 to respond to the needs of women of Italian culture in the New York metropolitan area.

Recognizing the important role women play in the transmission of language, culture, and tradition to the younger generation, as well as in the maintenance of the social fabric of community life, the founders joined together to create the needed infrastructure to give this role practical support.

The act of incorporation of the State of New York bears the date March 23, 1998. The IAWC is a member of the Federation of Italian-American Organizations of Queens.
