Administration
IBA is a constituent Institute of the University of Dhaka governed by the 4th Statute of Dhaka University and functions within the broad framework of policies, rules and regulations of the Dhaka University.
Board of Governors
The policy and administrative guidance for IBA are provided by a Board of Governors, chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, University of Dhaka. The Board consists of eleven members, which include three representatives from the business community. The composition of the Board is as follows:
I. The Vice-Chancellor - Chairman
ii. The Treasurer of the University
iii. One nominee of the Syndicate
iv. One nominee of the Academic Council
v. One nominee of the Faculty of Business Studies
vi. One nominee of the Faculty of Social Sciences
vii. Three persons from the business community nominated by the Chancellor
viii. One teacher of the Institute other than the Director
ix. Director of the Institute: Member - Secretary

Vice Chancellor
The Director is in charge of the Institute and is responsible for its overall management and supervision. The present Director of the Institute is:

Academic Board
The academic programs are reviewed by an Academic Board of the Institute. The Academic Board consists of all professors and associate professors of IBA and nominated members from the academic and business community. The Director of IBA is the Chairman of the Academic Board. Outside members are: Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Chairmen of the Departments of Accounting, Finance & Banking, Marketing, and Management.
Coordination and Development (C&D) Committee
The Coordination and Development Committee consists of one-third of the total number of teachers of the Institute. It is responsible for the improvement of the existing teaching and research facility and for the planning of further development of the Institute in the area of academic and research programs, recruitment and training of teachers, etc.
Academic Committee
The academic committee consists of all teachers of the Institute. The committee provides operational guidelines to the academic program of the Institute. It deals with admission of students, curriculum, examination, teaching and co-curricular activities.
Administrative Offices
The internal organization of the Institute is built around academic disciplines, program activities, specialized units and support services. The academic disciplines are grouped into five areas, viz., Marketing, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources and General Management, Management Science, and Development Management. Each area is under the leadership of a Coordinator. The program activities are divided into BBA and MBA Program, M.Phil. and Ph.D. Program, Management Development Program, Women Development Program - each under a Chairman. To cater to the unique needs of the society, the Institute has created five special units, viz., Center for Population Management and Research (CPMR), IBA Computer Center, (ICC), Center for Management Research and Publications (CMRP), Management Consultancy Program (MCP), Center for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (CESBD) and Case Development and Clearing Center (ICDC). Each center is headed by a Chairman.
The secretariat and the library provide support services to the disciplinary units, programs and centers. A Secretary and a Librarian look after respective support services. The Placement Officer assists the Chairman, Internship & Placement Committee in placement of the students for internship and job. All the organizational units are backed by adequate and competent staff personnel. Director of the Institute provides overall guidance and leadership to the entire activity spectrum, academic program, special units and support services.
