History


The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka was founded in 1966 in collaboration with the Indiana University, Bloomington, USA under a Ford Foundation Financial Assistance Program. 

The objective of the Institute is to provide professional training in business administration. IBA started the MBA Program in 1966. The M.Phil and Ph.D. programs were introduced in the 1970s, while the BBA Program was launched in 1993.IBA is distinguished as the pioneer business school in the country.

The Institute has its own premises within the campus of the University of Dhaka. The main building is four storied and contains 65,000 square feet of floor space. It houses the administrative and faculty offices, conference room, lecture and seminar rooms, computer lab, machine room and an auditorium. It has a teacher's lounge and a cafeteria for students.
