I would like to pass on this suggestion for feeding dogs that won't eat: Two parts white potatoes, 2 parts sweet potatoes, 1 part turnip (rutabaga) all cooked together, drained and mashed well. Add a couple of teaspoons of olive oil and a couple of cloves of garlic to increase palatability. This was given to me by the Vet who is treating Duke for his problems (eosynophilic and lymphoplasmacytic enterocolitis). I keep the water I drain off and serve it as a broth between meals. Duke has been on this mash since late June. He ate enthusiastically the first time he was served it at the end of June. White fish was added at the end of July. |
