The Cabinet Room

The large meeting room was the site of many wartime meetings of the Cabinet. The large wooden chair was where Churchill sat. Churchill's attitude towards the negative was expressed on a card in front of his desk: "The possibilities of defeat...do not exist."

The three seats directly in front of Churchill were the seats for the Chiefs of Staff of the armed forces. The cabinet, which had usually no more than eight ministers, was supplemented by various civilian and military advisors.
