| The Great State of Alaska has a colorful
history rich in the culture of the Alaska Natives, the
Russians, Americans, British and other countries who explored
this large area in hopes of claiming it for their own. |
| The gold rushes of the 1800's
brought thousands of people from all over the world to the
creeks, rivers and mountains of this land in hopes of striking
it rich. Some perished along the trail, others struck
out in the harsh wilderness, while some went home with a few
gold nuggets in their pockets if they were lucky--only a few
went home very wealthy. |
| This site is a volunteer
effort to assist historians, history buffs and genealogists to
search public records and private records for information on
the history of Alaska. |
