he Inside
Passage, or Southeast Alaska, is home to some of the most
breathtaking scenery on the face of the earth. That's why the
Inside Passage is one of the most visit areas in the state. Most
of the communities are coastal and have limited or no road access.
For this reason travel by plane and boat is popular. But when you
get to Southeast Alaska, you'll see why those who have never been
there have always wanted to go. It's where 3,000-foot mountain
peaks meet the ocean within a mile of the shore. It's also where
roughly half of the state's bald eagle population lives, and where
orcas and humpback whales come to feed in the summer. Visit
Southeast Alaska's Inside Passage and see why those who have been
to the Inside Passage long to return.
