For Centuries Arab-Islamic ,Society has emphasized the seclusion of Women ,and the dominance of man rights, although the advent of Islame brought about enormous changes in Women's Status. Prior to Islam,Women were treated as "Slaves" and exchanged as commodities .The Islam code ,however, structured the family and codified male-female relationships. Enabling Women to become active members of the community .The participation of the wives and Women disciple of Muhammad in social and polical life demonstrates the extent of the changes in Women Status. The diversity of Women's needs and interests, which vary from basic survival to aspirations of power and prestige ,kinders their collective participation in National politics and makes it difficult ,if not impossible,to implement effective government policies that appeal to all Moroccan Women .Because most Women often do not recognize given policies as serving their interests, they are unlikely to work to accomplish these geals and may not support government efforts purportedly undertaken on their behalf. Although under current Moroccan law Women are entiled to the same Economic ,Social and political rights as men ,some of these elite-initiated priorities have not necessarily won broad support. The involvement of Women in the Economy reflects and follows the gender-specific biases already limiting Women's access to edution, health and other public services .Since indepence ,intergration of Women into the development process has been no more than a theoretical policy of the government .Although some efforts were made grant women jobs ,healthcare ,and free formal Education ,several factors continus to limite their access to specific areas of the Economy . So the creation of several Women's organization with specific roles may contribute to better definition of the needs of various kinds of Women . |
Given the Economic and social conditions of Morocco and the persistence of traditional attitudes toward the Emancipation of Women ,the access of impleting egalitarian policies requires that more Women and partici-pate in decision-making process. The Women of Morocco deseve a better level of representation and commitment./. |
