Being the objective of the Institute to know the region of Icefields from the point of see scientific, technological, cultural and tourist and to diffuse their knowledge to the community, the corporation has noticed three types of projects, being them:

- Infrastructure: they allow to give complete and sure logistical support to groups of people that carry out scientific investigation, trips of knowledge and extreme sports. This resource should eliminate the territory image infernal that associates to the region.

- Investigation: those whose objective is to generate excellent space information, considering that this geosystem is one of those fewer studied of the planet, in their diverse disciplines. At the moment, it is in development the project Marsel whose objective is to dominate the knowledge of the sea and forest that it wraps to Southern Icefield. Later on, the efforts of the Institute will be centered in the north plateau of the Southern Icefield, configuring the project ' White '.

- Extension: to gather and to diffuse all the information of the different areas of the one knowledge to the national and international community, institutions and organisms of the one State and non government organisms, by means of chats, conferences and seminars, among others.
