(Camera goes to a computer, searching for something. Brief shot of a news headline:"Morpheus Evades Police Again". Camera goes to reveal a man (NEO!!!) sleeping in front of a computer, wearing headphones. Camera goes back to the computer screen which is now black.)

Computer screen: Wake up, Neo.
(Neo wakes up. Takes off headphones.)
Computer: The Matrix has you....
Neo: What? What the hell?
Computer screen: Follow the white rabbit.
Neo: Follow the white rabbit?...
Computer: Knock knock, Neo. (two knocks on the door. Neo jumps.)Who is it?
Man outside door: It's Choi.
Neo: Yeah. (looks at the computer screen again.)Yeah. (Opens up the door. Apartment # 101) You're two hours late.
Choi: I know, it's her fault.
Neo: Got the money?
C: (Holds it up)Two grand.
N: Hold on. (Goes back in, gets a disk from a hollow book on his shelf.)
C: Hallelujah! You're my savior, man. My own personal Jesus Christ-
N: You get caught using that...
C: Yeah, I know. This never happened. You don't exist.
N: Right.
C: Something wrong, man? You look a little whiter than usual.
Neo: My computer, it... (Scoffs) You ever have that feeling where you're not sure if you're awake or still dreaming?
Choi: Mmm, all the time. It's called Mescaline. It's the only way to fly. Hey, it just sounds to me like you need to unplug, man. You know, get some R and R. (Looks at his girlfriend) What do you think, DuJour? Should we take him with us?
DuJour: Definitely.
Neo: I can't, I have work tomorrow. DuJour: Come on, It'll be fun. I promise. (Camera zooms in to her shoulder. A white rabbit is tatooed there.) Neo: Yeah. Sure, I'll go.

(At a club, loud music playing and people dancing. Neo is standing by a wall by himself. A girl walks up to him. )
Girl: Hello, Neo.
Neo: How do you know that name?
Girl: I know a lot about you.
Neo: Who are you?
Girl: My name is Trinity.
N: Trinity. THE Trinity? That cracked the IRS d-base?
Trinity: That was a long time ago.
N: Jesus...
T: What?
N: I just thought, um...you were a guy.
T: Most guys do.
N: That was you on my computer. How did you do that?
T: Right now all I can tell you is that you're in danger. I brought you here to warn you.
N: Of what?
T: They're watching you, Neo.
N: Who is?
T: Please just listen. (goes over to Neo, starts whispering in his ear:) *I swear, when I first saw this I thought she was going to kiss him, she's so close to his face
I know why you're here, Neo. I know what you've been doing. I know why you hardly sleep, why you live alone, and why night after night you sit at your computer. You're looking for him. I know, because I was once looking for the same thing. And when he found me, he told me I wasn't really looking for him. I was looking for an answer. It's the question that drives us, Neo. It's the question that brought you here. You know the question just as I did.
N: "What is the Matrix?"
T: The answer is out there, Neo. It's looking for you. And it will find you, if you want it to. (Looks at him one last time, then leaves.)
