                              Ever wonder why sometimes you feel drained of your 
                              energy under certain
                              circumstances such as: being a sounding board for 
                              someone, after doing a difficult
                              reading using whatever tool of divination, after 
                              conducting a healing session or as
                              innocent as being pushed in a crowd?
                              
                              Sometimes being aware of your psychic abilities 
                              open channels that have been
                              dormant, this also invites all forms of unwanted 
                              energies unseen by the human eye. It
                              is easy to get carried away and forget the possible 
                              dangers you are exposed to when
                              doing psychic work. However, this possibility should 
                              not discourage anyone from
                              developing their psychic abilities.It is a matter 
                              of preparation before and after doing any
                              psychic work.
                              
                              Simple words like "grounding", preparation 
                              and protection can do wonders to protect
                              you.
                            Why the need for psychic protection when you are

                              with a clear conscience and the best intentions? 
                              You know you are not doing any 
                              harm, nor trigger a karmic reaction- yet, why ? 
                              
                            
                            The path to psychic development and spirituality 
                              opens up a whole new world, You are
                              tapping into the unknown , unknown and different 
                              energies and cosmic influence. This 
                              process opens up your subtle bodies in a way that 
                              you have never done before. You 
                              become aware of new energies, open your aura to 
                              receive more influences, and this

                            When you start to recognize these different energies 
                              and fully open your chakras, you

                            STRENGTHENING YOUR ENERGY FIELD
                            Energy field that is invisible to the human eye 
                              is all around. Science has proven this. The best 
                              you can do is to be aware of these external forces 
                              in the environment that is 
                              present yet invisible. There are simple steps to 
                              protect your energy from being 
                              absorbed by another, which could result in physical, 
                              emotional or mental imbalance.
                              Aren’t there times when you feel drained after 
                              listening to the tales of woe of another? When the 
                              presence of a particular person makes you feel uncomfortable? 
                              Sometimes you wonder how did you get "sucked" 
                              into something you don’t care about? What 
                              about those sudden grips of anxiety? These are samples 
                              of intrusion into your energy field. Some refer 
                              to these fields as Auric field. Continued exposure 
                              is not healthy, it is draining, and yet, simple 
                              enough to deal with.
                            STEPS TO PSYCHIC PROTECTION:
                            
                              Exercise, fresh air, meditation, good nutrition 
                              and hygiene.This sets you off to a good start.For 
                              those who are engaged in healing, counselling and 
                              like professions, it is easy to get entangled in 
                              clients’ problems. Protection is important 
                              to maintain positive emotional objectivity. Protect 
                              yourself, cleanse the energy field before and after 
                              a session.
                            Today, there are all kinds of tools in the market- 
                              add to above aroma therapy, herbal and oil essence, 
                              music, candle power, just to name a few.
                            SMUDGING
                              This is a common Native American tradition. It is 
                              the practise of using smoke and fragrance of various 
                              herbs to "cleanse: the atmosphere of negative 
                              energies. Fragrances, be it essential oils or incense 
                              strongly affect the aura and energies of the emotional 
                              and mental nature. this method provides a high energy 
                              vibration, effective protection and dispels surrounding 
                              negative energies.
                            i. Sage and sweet grass combination is common.
                            ii. Incense
                            iii. Oils and other essence
                            iv.Crystals or stones
                            crystals are charged with their own electrical 
                              energy. They are gaining popularity in today’s 
                              New Age society. They have been around long before 
                              man, and it is also believed that they possess powers, 
                              thanks to the residing "Deva" in them. 
                              Crystals are used in vibrational healing, for protection 
                              and inspiration, not to mention their use in technology. 
                              They can be programmed and dedicated for the purpose 
                              of protection.
                              i. Hold a small quartz crystal in your hand; this 
                              increases the auric field.
                              ii. Double terminated quartz crystal are known to 
                              be effective
                              Hold one in bothhands at your solar plexus, relax 
                              and visualize the energy of the crystal pour to 
                              you.
                              iii. Carry a pouch of selected crystals to heal 
                              you and protect you.
                              iv. Program a crystal to protect your surroundings 
                              period
                            THE CLEANSING VORTEX
                              This is a visualization exercise for cleansing and 
                              purifying the entire auric field.
                              It is very helpful for one who has had a bad day, 
                              when you interacted with a lot of people and beginning 
                              to feel drained, good to release all the unwanted 
                              energies accumulated through the day.
                              This exercise helps sweep out energy debris, preventing 
                              it from accumulating and thereby creating imbalance.
                            Steps: This is a guideline;you can modify to suit 
                              your style.
                              i. Sit down comfortably, do some breathing exercise, 
                              in preparation.
                              ii. Above your crown chakra, in your mind’s 
                              eye, visualize a small
                              whirlwind of crystalline white fire beginning to 
                              form, liken to spiritual tornado. As it takes on 
                              a funnel shape, enlarge it enough to fill in your 
                              auric field. The small end of the funnel now enters 
                              through the crown of your head, pass down through 
                              the middle pillar of your body.
                              iii. This whirlwind of spiritual fire should be 
                              seen as rotating and spinning clockwise. See, feel 
                              and imagine it moving down sweeping off all the 
                              unwanted debris accumulated throughout the day.
                              iv. See this vortex exit out through your feet down 
                              into earth itself, this is carrying down the debris 
                              into the lower realms and lower kingdoms.
                            PURE WHITE LIGHT/ WATERFALL
                              For those who are able to visualize, this is another 
                              way to protect yourself, just imagine yourself under 
                              the protection of the white light or under the waterfall. 
                              Lastly, always remember to ground, cleanse, open 
                              and close your channels before and after psychic

                            GROUNDING

                            Going around in circles? You can't seem to get 
                              going? 
                              You feel too much clutter in your brain.This is 
                              
                              not unusual if you are not grounded. In this busy 
                              world,
                              it is important to learn how to get "grounded". 
                              
                              Grounding is gaining more attention lately. 
                            Grounding is essential in any kind of spiritual 
                              work, 
                              as well as in everyday life. Grounding is showing
                              man's respect and connection to the earth's energies.
                              Think of it like the electrical grounding system 
                              of
                              every house. 
                            GROUNDING helps in centering and focusing on the 
                              body 
                              and to live in the present. This process fosters 
                              
                              a feeling of stability in moments of insecurity, 
                              
                              it offers a calming effect when emotions are running
                              high; it leaves you in peace and in harmony within
                              and with the world around you. Grounding is about 
                              
                              gathering together all of your energies - mental, 
                              
                              emotional and physical,calming your thoughts 
                              and feelings to bring about inner harmony and balance.
                            
                            METHODS OF GROUNDING 
                            
                            Sit comfortably and close your eyes. 
                            Place your hands on your thighs.
                            Focus your attention on your body. 
                            Begin with your feet. Then slowly, and thoroughly,
                            move your awareness up through your legs, thighs,
                            torso , arms, neck and head. 
                            Focus on your breathing. 
                            Imagine that you are surrounded by light. 
                              As you breathe in, inhale this light, and 
                              feel your body filling with it.
                            As you breathe out, exhale any tension, any pain 
                              
                              you may feel in your face, your shoulders, your 
                              body
                            Inhale Light 
                            Exhale tension until you are relaxed and calm.
                            METHOD B
                              Picture tiny roots coming from the soles of your 
                              feet. 
                              Feel them growing and growing, 
                              all the way down into the Earth 
                              Visualize your roots wriggling deep, 
                              deep into the ground, taking hold there and 
                              connecting you securely to the centre of the Earth.
                              Now bring your attention to the 
                              top of your head, to your crown. 
                              Visualize this spot, 
                              which is about an inch and a half in diameter,
                              beginning to open. 
                              From this opening fibers are emerging, 
                              long filaments reaching up like branches
                              throughout the ceiling all the way up 
                              through the building. 
                              Breathe in both streams of energy 
                              up from Earth and down from Heaven.
                              When you are ready, 
                              come aware of your body again, 
                              of where you are sitting, 
                              slowly open your eyes. 
                              Look around you. 
                              Notice any differences 
                              in the way your body feels. 
                              Be sure to enter anything in your psychic journal.
                            
                            CENTERING
                            Centering is a good exercise if you find meditation 
                              
                              difficult and it will, over a period of time 
                              enable you to select what needs attention both
                              in the everyday world and in decison-making 
                              as well as spiritually. 
                            
                            
                              METHOD
                            Inhale slowly and saying a word such as peace, 
                              
                              love or harmony, silently on your in-breath 
                              so that you extend every syllable,
                              then exhale the word out loud,
                              Repeat this at least 8 times and you will be centered.
                            
                            
                              STILLING THE MIND
                            This enables you to switch from your everyday 
                              mode to a higher state of conciousness. 
                              It can also be used as a form of psychic protection. 
                              
                              Still your body by going to your special 
                              outdoor/indoor space. Do nothing except listen 
                              to your breathing - do not try to control,
                              count or change the rhythm. If thoughts intrude,
                              gently push them away as though launching 
                              a toy boat on a pond. Picture a sky full of stars
                              and watch them going out one by one 
                              until you are enclosed with 
                            
                            
                              IF you find you suffer from being ungrounded 
                              a lot you may be a sensitive. It is a good 
                              idea for sensitives to avoid alcohol, tobacco,
                              drugs and vegetarian diets. A small amount of meat 
                              
                              and large amounts of legumes are good for grounding.
                              If you wish, you can imagine or visualize a 
                              cord of energy traveling from the centre of your 
                              body 
                              to the centre of the earth. 
                            This can also work if you cannot get outside.
                            
                            Keep in mind:
                              it may takes WEEKS of consistent grounding 
                              before you begin to feel yourself again, 
                              especially if you are particularly sensitive. 
                              Any psychic work you do, any emotional trauma, 
                              will make you ungrounded again. This practice
                              is something you must make part of your lifestyle. 
                            
                            The three psychic stages of grounding, 
                              centering and stilling the mind can be used
                              separately or in sequence.
