CLAN SPACE
The just deaths of the traitors frightened some
there among the darkness and alien stars.
A few lost heart and began with quavering resolve
to question the Great Father's plan.
With stern compassion he spoke and all was revealed;
how their destiny was the Hidden Hope
of all mankind and how their son's sons
would one day return to the Inner Sphere
bringing back the enlightenment of the Star League
to those unfortunates they had left behind.

The Pentagon Worlds and Kerensky Cluster that make up Clan Space are hidden from the Inner Sphere by the Caliban Nebula, better known to Clans as the Veil of the Protector.
Clan space is approximately 1,300 light years from Terra in the direction of the Milky Way galactic core, which is 30,000 light years from Terra.
Comparison-wise, the Inner Sphere, with thousands of colonized worlds, has a radius of a 300 light years, while the Kerensky Cluster, with only 36 worlds, has a radius of approximately 60 light years.
The five Pentagon Worlds are approximately 75 light years closer to the Inner Sphere and 100 light years from the Cluster.
Hence, Clan worlds are more greatly spread apart than those in the Inner Sphere.
It is because of this dichotomy of scale that lithium-fusion powered jumphips are required for efficient transit amongst Clan worlds.
