Opening Ceremonies
The 'Welcome' was not held at the arena as in previous years but in a conference room at the hotel. It was nicely done but we all kind of wondered how the Mexican theme related to Canadian Synchro Skating. The singer & dancers put on a good show, however, & we enjoyed our evening.

Our Weekend Starts
The bad weather that they had been calling for, held off for our drive to Opening Ceremonies but hit with a vengence thru the night. As a result we were a few minutes late leaving & then managed to get behind the snowplows..............twice!!!! Not good!!!! Joe did a great job driving, we did a quick change into our practice dresses on the bus, raced into our dressing room to put skates on & within seconds were on the ice for our 7:40 am practice. It seemed like seconds later, we were off the ice & heading for our hotel. Our weekend had started!

Our first day was very unstructured. We settled in by decorating the halls of our hotel, some of us took advantage of the exercise room, some loitered a bit at Timmy's & some went for a walk down to the docks.

A good time for a foot scrub....left foot first girls......

...... all together now ........right foot!

It's Game Day
Thursday night was an early night for us all. We were all tired from the early morning & our Friday morning official practice ice was at 5:30 am ..........that's just cruel!!!
Friday was "game day" so we got our game day hair & game day makeup on.

See Mom, I'm not always being silly!!!!!

Copps Collesium is a wonderful facility!!

It was nice to see our fans at the arena!!!!

Free Time
Friday afternoon was free time for us so we spent a bit of time at Oakville Mall & went back to the hotel for dinner. We had a nice evening & got to stay up for an extra half hour!!!!
WOOOHOOOO!!!! We don't have to get up til 8am tomorrow morning!!!

We started by having some shooters!!!!!

Then it was out for a nice supper!!!!

A rose between 2 thorns????? Or not!!!!!
Cherry cheesecake for the birthday girls!!!!

We had a good practice Sat morning, we got cleaned up & took a trip to "HomeWork", a lovely interior decorating place in Hamilton. Then back to Copps to watch the final skate for the competitive adults, juniors & seniors. They were fantastic...........a real inspiration!!!!

Sherry's adult competitive team had an awesome skate!
Bre tried to get on the jumbotron but, alas, failed to catch the jumbotron guys eye!!!
We all got together Sat evening to show our appreciation to Traci, Wendy, Donna & Dean!

Rob Roy comes to Hamilton
Game Day again!!!!!

When we get to the arena, we are greeted by someone special.........
could it be..............it is................

it's Rob Roy MacGregor!!!!!!!!!

He was a good sport even when he was shoved into the centre of the circle & FORCED to stay there!!!

And then there's Laura...........
After all this silliness we went out & skated our hearts out!! It was enough to bring us up from 7th place into 4th!!
You can't complain about that!
