The Soren Rogers Stem Cell Fund

Amy Rogers, formerly head writer for the POWERPUFF GIRLS, needs your help to raise money for her son Soren's Stem Cell Fund. Please click on Soren's picture to read about him, and if you can, DONATE!!!

PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM AMY ROGERS:

Soren is almost 3 years old. At 6 months old he started having seizures. At 9 months he was diagnosed with a seizure disorder called Infantile Spasms. After trying 11 drugs over the next 14 months and going to the Dominican Republic twice for stem cell injections, Soren was seizure-free for a year thanks to a drug called Lamictal. But, due to growth, Soren's seizures have resufaced now and again. Plus the seizures caused severe global developmental delay, causing Soren to be a 4 month old in a 3 year old's body. Soren has a great big sister Moira who loves him to pieces. When he wants, he gives the sweetest giggles and the heartiest laughs. He loves to eat and his favorite food is avocado!

Welcome to my Fanfiction page. Here you will find all of the Powerpuff Girls stories I've done. Writing was something I'd always planned to get around to some day, but it took Craig McCracken's wonderful creations to reawaken that interest. I've looked at this endeavor as a stepping stone to being a 'real' writer someday, and I've used the Girls and their world in a whole variety of genres; from the style of humor we see on the TV show all the way to horror. Some are done in TV script format and some in book form. There will even be an occasional poem. They will be listed in the order they were written, so hopefully you'll be able to see that I've improved with practice.

Most of my work is published under the name 'Icekings', but a few of these stories were written by me, under the name 'I am a good fighter'. They are my efforts to write 'serious' fiction and present the Powerpuff Girls in a 'real world' setting. When I did my first of this type, 'Dying to Live', it was seen as being on the extreme side for Powerpuff Girls. I elected at that time to keep a separate identity for writing the more serious material. I felt it gave me more freedom as I was admittedly sensitive about being criticized as 'Icekings' for getting away from the cartoon. I don't see any real reason anymore to keep it a secret, though my 'fighter' stories will remain under that name where posted elsewhere.

I also did two comedy scripts under the name 'Powerpuff 79'. Some time ago I told a friend I was considering doing something like this, my reasoning being similar to Stephen King's for writing under the name 'Richard Bachmann'. He wanted to see if people were buying his books because they were good or because they were written by Stephen King. (The Bachmann books didn't sell too well until word leaked out that it was King who wrote them.) My thoughts were the reverse of that. Things in our PPG writing club had gone dead and I thought people had simply grown tired of me. I wanted to see if they would react to someone new and 'fresh'. Sadly, it was just the same few people who reviewed the PP79 fics. People were apparently tired of reading and critiquing all fics, not just mine. That should have made me feel better but it didn't. We need the feedback from readers if we want to improve.
