Burn February 2, 2005

February 1, 2005 -- I thought it was another ordinary day for me. It was 11:58 PM and I was just getting ready to go to bed. I did my evening routine, studied for my test the next day, and just before going to sleep decided to read a few chapters of the book that I just bought from the bookstore earlier that afternoon.

February 2, 2005 -- At around 1:30 in the morning, the phone rang. Now who could be calling at this ungodly hour?!? later on I found out that it was my grandfather and he said that there was a fire just near the chinese temple ( along coastal road). I just thought to myself: DAMN! not again!

2:00 AM -- I ran outside to see the commotion. Outside, people were scrambling with their things. It was chaos. Anyway, I decided to look at the chinese temple. Ironically, I found the structure much more beautiful to look at at that time. The light from the fire was enveloping the temple and it looked like there was some kind of festival going on inside.

2:15 AM -- What the HECK!?, I went to my grandfather's place to help them out. Adrenalin wa surging through my body and I can't believe I carried two TV sets (17" or 21"; can't remember but it was big and heavy when I returned it back.) out of the house. Hell broke loose: Panic, Crying, Firetrucks, Laughter, Smiles, Frowns, Water, Buckets, Jokes, Prayers, Cuss words, Speculations, Blame. People with different reactions. Kinda confusing.

2:45 AM -- The fire finally died and people returned to their homes. It was common for us to have a fire break out somewhere in our town. Just last year we had three fires in three months (I think). So people in my town are more alert and know what measures to take in those times. I finally returned to my bed. Read more chapters of the book I just bought.

3:15 AM -- ZzzZzzzzZzZzzzZzzzzZzzZ.

SunRise January 11, 2005

I miss the early days when I, my aunt and my brother would wake up at 5 o'clock in the morning and go to either the Bay Promenade or to the Baywalk to jog or get some excercise..

I am not usually a morning person. I hate waking up early. I hate being waken up by anybody. whenever I wake up early I usually get tired and sleepy the rest of the day. But the morning jogs was different for me. I look forward to it even though I have to wake up very early.

It's just plain breathtaking to watch the sunrise over the waters of Manila Bay and nothing compares to the coolness of the ocean breeze. Just the walk from the airport road to the Bay promenade gives a sense of calmness within. God, I am really going to miss those days. I wish It would be vacation once again.

Screaming January 4, 2005

I've got a right to be wrong. My mistakes will make me strong. I'm stepping out to the great unknown. I'm feeling wings though I've never flown. I've got a mind of my own. I'm flesh and blood to the bone. I'm not made of stone. Got a right to be wrong. So just leave me alone.

I've got the right to be wrong. I've been held down too long. I've got to break free. So I can finally breathe. I've got a right to be wrong. Got to sing my own song. I might be singing out of key. But it sure feels good me. Got a right to be wrong. So just leave me alone.

You're entitled to your opinion. But it's really my decision. I can't turn back, I'm on a mission. If you care don't you dare blur my vision. Let me be all that I can be. Don't smother me with negativity. Whatever's out there waiting for me. I'm going to face it willingly.

I've got a right to be wrong...Joss Stone...Just can't get enough of her.

Stars January 2, 2005

By the end of December last year, some of my friends and I went to Star City. Supposedly we were going to Subic but some miscommunication happened and it never went as planned.

Anyways since I had nothing to do that day so I decided to come along to Star City. Damn! There so many people in the theme park which means there would be long lines. hehe Unfortunately the only rides we tried were the Zyclone Loop, Bumper Cars, Gabi ng Lagim and Peter Pan (we were like kids! hehehe). The last ride we tried was the Wild River but again because of the long lines we gave up and decided to go to BayWalk to eat.

We decided to eat at Anthology's. A live band was already performing and we had a very great time. But I wished that day that more of my friends were present rather than just the three of us.

I hope that someday we'll be able to do that again.

Celebration January 1, 2005

Happy new year! Goodbye 2004, hello 2005! So with a new beginning, I start with my new personal site. This new year's celebration was much more quiet than the later years. Less people were using firecrackers. They just resort to shouting out loud or bringing up the volume of their stereos. Hehe.

Food! Food! Food! everywhere food! I had to restrain myself cause I'm watching my weight. hehe. Well, as usual in our family gatherings there is spaghetti, sausages, fried eggs, ham, bacon, siopao, fruit salad, donuts, sweet ham, christmas ham, hard-boiled eggs. Yum! Yum! but then again I had to refrain from eating too much. phooey!

No firecrackers were present in our house except the 'lusis' sticks. Nobody even bothered to light them up so I was the one who ended up playing with the 'lusis' sticks. I don't like loud firecrackers. I think I fear them too much. I do not even know why!

Well I hope the following year 'slash' term for me would be all fine. I do hope I would get all through my obstacles and tribulations.

THANK GOD I'm still alive.
