Milliardo Peacecraft is the brother of Relena Peacecraft, who now rules the Sank Kingdom, is a very skilled pilot like the gundam pilots. He is also known as Zechs Marquise (which is his alias name). He is willing to fight man to man and he doesn't like fighting against mobile dolls. He alsodoesn't like his opponent to be handicap of weapons (like when he was fighting against Heero). Zechs is friend and foe to the gundam pilots. He wants to fight with them because they are on the same side and fighting against the same people (mostly), but the gundam pilots don't trust him (especially Heero). As he goes through changes in the series, you may think he's enemy, but then he turns out to be their aly. He supports the Sank Kingdom and fights for it. That mask he wears is to cover the shame that he couldn't fullfill his fathers dreams of ruling the Sank Kingdom.
