I know that my Father Joe Ridley met my uncle Arthur Smith in the Palestine Police Force.
Through my uncle he met my mother after WW II. I came across some old photos of my Father
and a man identified as Sid on the back of one of the photos. This was Sid Hillier.
A Photo of my uncle had a similar back ground I concluded they where all take in Palestine.

The Pictures that follow where used to establish the link between the
Palestine Police and Sid Hillier.

Did Sid also serve in the Palestine Police?

Based on information received from the Palastine Police Old Comrades Association the
answer appears to be yes.

Extract from email December 22 2004

“We have a note of Hillier, Sidney Frederick who was former British Constable 3121.
He joined the Force in 1938 but his membership of our Association lapsed in 1957 at
which time he was living in, Boronia, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.”

I do recall my father (Ralph Ridley) talking about a man called Sid (Sid Hillier) and
my uncle Arthur and the time they spent together in the Palestine Police. Despite the
problem in the World at the time this did appear to be a happy and memorable time for
my father.
