The Collective Philippine Science Diary Project

This is a collaborative writing project that seeks to involve everyone working in the science and technology sector in the Philippines-- whether from the government, academe, NGO, industry, or individual; and whether from the rank-and-file, junior and senior supervisors, chiefs of divisions, deputy directors, directors, assistant secretaries, undersecretaries, and secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and its agencies; instructors and professors, researchers, inventors, technologists, and scientists of all levels and disciplines whether basic or applied sciences. Of course, all the science researchers,librarians, information workers, writers and journalists are very much welcome to join!

1. Travel / Conferences and Workshop experiences related to your work
2. Random thoughts, opinions, or insights into any science and technology issues that affect our country, Asia-Pacific Region, or the global community
3. If you really keep a journal or diary where you write about your regular activities, so much the better-- why not share them with us?!
4. If photos are available, please send them in also with captions.

Fragmentary Life Writing

This is a free and unexplored territory. Welcome, everyone. Share with us whatever are your thoughts and feelings-- as long as not offensive. There are really no guidelines. Just adhere to the universal human notion of what is true, good, and beautiful. Your only goal would be to share your mind and thus connect to the rest of humanity. Even if only one individual in a thousand faceless people is touched by your writing, you have made a connection and it is already an accomplishment that makes the writing life worth living.

Just a few words about what is true. Truth has three philosophical levels:

1. Theological truth- spiritual; achieved through meditation and experience.
2. Metaphysical truth- abstract; can be explained and tested in the free market of ideas.
3. Positive truth-- scientific, meaning can be physically quantified, proven and validated. Read more about the Philosophy of Positivism.
