About Sidelines

Sidelines is a National Support Group for women with complicated pregnancies. Sidelines was co-founded by Candace Hurley and Laura Maurer in 1992. Within the first year a family crisis lead Laura to resign her position as Administrative Director. Tracy Hoogenboom was chosen to take her position. Soon the young organization prospered in the community and when Sidelines went online it lead to a non-profit nationwide organization.

Sidelines offers education, referrals, support, and advocacy services to these high risk "moms". Sidelines matches each mom with a trained Sidelines volunteer whom has previously been through a similar pregnancy experience. That volunteer would support her referral throughout the remainder of her pregnancy by writing email messages to her or calling her on the phone. All referrals are kept confidential.

Please note: Sidelines does not give medical advice. If you want more specific information on your treatment plan, have questions about the medications you are taking, or think you might be in preterm labor, please call your medical professional, case manager, or local hospital.
