Following on from TP105 (solo piano music), we now hear several of Benjamin's best chamber works. Here are some pieces that will surprise those who expect more Jamaican pleasantries, although included is one of the arrangements of JR by violist William Primrose. Especially fine, in my view, are the dark wartime viola sonata and the ingenious homage to Ravel, a British Valses nobles et sentimentales perhaps.
