March 03, 2005

Brethren:

The next stated communications of Ideal Lodge No. 367, will be on Wednesday, March 9 & 23, 2005.  At the March 9th meeting we will have a MASTER MASON’S DEGREE!  Brothers we need all the help we can get, therefore please plan to make this meeting.  Regular business at the second meeting, refreshments will follow all meetings, so come and enjoy the activities.  Meetings are held at Andrew Jackson Lodge Hall, 1105 LeBeau Avenue, Arabi, LA.

Master’s Message:

Well I am back!  I hope to have a very busy year and maybe spark some new interest in the Lodge, that way we can obtain a larger membership.  I also hope that some of the older members and Past Masters will attend more regularly.  Just because your year is over, you still need to continue to support your Lodge and attend all the meetings you are able to attend.  I am planning an OPEN HOUSE soon, possibly in May, so look for more information as soon as we can get the plans together.  I love my Lodge and the Fraternity and want to see our Lodge grow.  My hope for the year is that everyone will get together and help plan some nice functions for the year of 2005.  y

 RELIEF:

  • Bro. Sal Tortorich, Jr. Warden had a back & neck operation in September 2004 and has resumed working, but is still in a lot of pain and still seeing doctors regularly.  He did not get to ride in any parades this year and also let Brother Robert Rapp use his motorcycle in the parades!  That’s Sick!

  • WB Joseph Revolta is about the same and stays home most of the time.  He is able to get out of the wheel chair around the house, for short distances, but still has to use the wheel chair mostly.

  • WB George Faulkner is doing better and stated that he went back to smoking again.  I guess he will need another scare where he can’t breathe to make him stop again.  But we still love the BEAR!

  • WB Rene Falgout and his wife have moved across the lake to the Slidell area, near their son.

  • WB Ralph McDonald has had some medical problems lately and has not been able to attend meetings.

  • WB Herman Robin has also been missing in action due to medical problems lately.

  • Brothers, please remember the above-mentioned Members in your prayers!

 Secretary’s Message:

Brothers, your 2004 Dues Cards are NOW expired!  Please remit your dues to IDEAL LODGE # 367, c/o: Armando Perez, 3620 Chalona Drive, Chalmette, LA 70043-1510.  Do not mail anything to the Lodge Hall on LeBeau Avenue.  Please send all mail to the Chalona Drive address, or I might not receive it!  Also, due to the Resolution to raise the per capita assessment, another $5, the dues are now $45.50 per year.  Please remember to add your optional 2¢ worth a day for an additional $7.30.  Please make check in the amount of $52.80.

We still have several members that have not paid for this year!  Brethren, your dues are due at the first of the year, not the end of the year!  How do you expect us to run the Lodge and pay rent, per capita and other expenses, with some of the Brothers holding back until after September of each year?

ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LETTER IS SENT BY E-MAIL TO FOURTEEN (14) MASONS AND THEY WILL NOT GET THE MAILED VERSION.  THIS HELPS KEEP THE COST OF THE POSTAGE DOWN AND ALSO PROVIDES THE NEWSLETTER TO THEM, TWO DAYS EARLIER!!  IF YOU HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS, PLEASE PROVIDE IT TO:  "skipperez@aol.com".  THANKS!!
