Brethren:

The next stated communication of Ideal Lodge No. 367, will be on Wednesday, August 24, 2005.  At this meeting we will conduct an Entered Apprentice Degree after the regular business meeting.  ALSO THIS MONTH on Wednesday, August 31st we will be hosting the Eighteenth Masonic District Meeting at our Lodge Hall.  It should be no problem to get the Traveling Gavel Award this time, since it is in our own back yard!  Please try to attend this meeting so that we can at-least get the Traveling Gavel once this year.  Thanks in advance Brothers.

Since we are so close to next month, September 14 & 28, 2005 will be our next months’ meeting nights.  Regular business will be conducted at the Sept 14th meeting with another Entered Apprentice Degree to be conducted!  And an OPEN HOUSE for PAST MASTERS NIGHT on Sept. 28th.  Your family and friends are invited to this function.  On this night we honor our Past Masters, in thanks for all their hard work and dedication to the Lodge.  If not for them, our Lodge may not be in existence, or may not have the tranquility we enjoy today!  As usual we will have plenty of food and drink for all who attend.  Come and enjoy YOUR LODGE ACTIVITIES.

MASTER’S MESSAGE:

Brethren, we have almost completed the year’s activities!  Only two functions left this year!  Host the District Meeting and an Open House for Past Masters Night.  I would like to have as many Brothers present at the District Meeting and also as many visitors present, as possible, at the Open House function.  I will need some help planning the meals for the Open House and we will discuss that at the first meeting of the month.  Plan now to invite your family and close friends, so that we have a nice turnout.  Show them your Lodge and all the members that make up your Lodge.  After a short presentation to the Past Masters present, we will dine on some delicious super.  If you have children, feel free to bring them to the Lodge too.

REPORT ON PREVIOUS MEETINGS:

Most of our meetings have been mostly business meetings and we have not had any degree work most of the year.  We have been having approximately 9 to 12 Brothers at the meetings each month.  The last two meetings we voted on two men that were accepted into our Lodge and we have the Degrees scheduled above.  Please come out and enjoy the meetings with us.  Joseph Revolta, P.M. has been coming to the meetings lately.  He is still in a wheel chair and does not speak, however he lets us know what he thinks and makes us understand what he wants too.  J

 CONGRATULATIONS!!!

RELIEF:

Joseph Revolta, PM is doing about the same, however someone that is really working with him daily and he may soon be able to get around better.  She is also working on his writing skills too; therefore he may be able to communicate soon too!  That would be GREAT!!

Wayne Lee, PM is doing well, however he has trouble keeping other drivers away from his motorcycle.  He has had several accidents on his Harley Davison.  The last one, the lady knocked him down in the parking lot at the Chalmette Post Office!  He suffered a broken noise and some cracked ribs.  :-(

Capt Ralph McDonald, PM is still under doctor’s treatment for some of his problems.  He has not been able to make many meetings, however he stated that he will try to make more soon.

Bobby Sonnier, S.W. stated that he has problems with his peripheral vision and it probably will be permanent, due to a light stroke that he suffered while in the hospital last month.

Secretary’s Note:

Well we have all but one (1) dues paid for 2005!  Next month I will be receiving dues cards for the year of 2006!  Please start thinking about paying your dues early this year, as the Lodge needs all the funds due the Lodge, because it has been a long time since any fundraisers were had.  Our checkbook is looking low and needs a boost.

ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LETTER IS SENT BY E-MAIL TO NINETEEN (19) MASONS AND THEY WILL NOT GET THE MAILED VERSION.  THIS HELPS KEEP THE COST OF POSTAGE DOWN AND ALSO PROVIDES THE NEWSLETTER TO THEM, TWO DAYS EARLIER!!  IF YOU HAVE AN E-MAIL ADDRESS, PLEASE PROVIDE IT TO:  "skipperez@bellsouth.net".  THANKS!!
