November 30, 2006   Brethren:  The next stated communications of Ideal Lodge No. 367, will be on Tuesdays, December 5, & 19, 2006.  Meetings are held at Livingston Lodge Hall, corner of E. Morris & S. Cypress Sts., Hammond, LA.  Refreshments will precede the meetings at 6:30 p.m.; with ELECTION OF OFFICERS at the Dec. 5th meeting at 7:30 p.m.  On December 19th we will have an OPEN INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS.  Our Most Worshipful Grand Master, Clayton J. Borne, III will be the Installing Master, so come and enjoy the activities.    Master’s Message: Well this is my last article as Master of Ideal Lodge.  I feel Great that I was able to preside over Ideal Lodge for the year of 2006.  I made the membership a promise that I would attend all meetings and I have.  I have worked both Junior and Senior Warden’s Chairs, made the Warden’s Retreat, have attended Grand Lodge Sessions throughout my years as Warden and Master.  I kept my promise to all of you and made each and every stated meeting.  I am an officer in the 18th District Lodge and have made all of those meetings too.  We were able to grow the Lodge Membership and added ten more members in my year.  I have traveled 109 miles each way from my new home in Carencro, LA to make all the above meetings.  I feel that Ideal Lodge will continue to grow and prosper.    I ask that all of the members of Ideal Lodge support your Lodge by attending regularly, as I am doing.  We need your support to keep our Lodge going.  I know it may be a hardship on some, but we must overcome hardships to help the Lodge survive.  I may not make all the upcoming meetings, due to my and my wife’s health problems, however I will be making meetings when I can.  I still plan to be active in the District Lodge and possibly become Master of the District, should the Brothers of the District elect me to that office in the next few years.  Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday Season and will see you at the meetings.  y

^{On October 17th Ideal Lodge held it’s annual Open House/Awards Night, met with 10 members and 9 visitors present.  Abbreviated business was conducted and the Worshipful Master Bobby Sonnier introduced his officers and they in turn introduced their family and guest.  Rt. W B Lupo, Treasurer, DDGM and WB Skip Perez, Sec., DGL were escorted West of the Alter and given Public Grand Honors.  WB James P. Allen, PM was also asked to stand and was congratulated as the incoming Elect DDGM of the 19th Masonic District, taking office on January 30, 2007.  At this point the Worshipful Master read out the recipients of Ideal Lodge’s 2006 Awards, for going above and beyond their duty for Ideal Lodge No. 367.  They are as follows:}  

• WB Terry Cooper, JW, For His Wonderful Involvement With Ideal Lodge Throughout The Year 2006.
• Worshipful Master Robert Alton Harper, Livingston Lodge No. 160, For His Wonderful Involvement With Ideal Lodge Throughout The Year 2006.
• WB George Allen Cooper, PM, For His Wonderful Involvement With Ideal Lodge Throughout The Year 2006.  WB Cooper was NOT present on this night. 

Each Brother was allowed to speak after he received his award and had a nice acceptance speech.  A final Award was given to Livingston Lodge No. 160 Membership, receiving the award was Worshipful Master Robert Alton Harper, Livingston Lodge No. 160.  He again thanked Ideal Lodge for their recognition and thought that Ideal Lodge’s Awards Night was something that Livingston Lodge should look into and maybe he could have the incoming Master follow our lead and also hold an Awards Night at Livingston Lodge. 

On November 7^th Ideal Lodge met with 12 members and 1 visitor present.  Regular business was conducted and the minutes of the last four meeting were read and filed with corrections made.  A discussion was had on purchasing Lodge Paraphernalia.  The Secretary stated that he had obtained donations from quite a number of members of Ideal Lodge.  $500 from WB Rene Falgout; $50 from WB Nick Koutroulis; $100 from WB Wayne Lee; $50 from WB Terry Cooper and $20 from WM Bobby Sonnier.  We THANK the above named Brothers for their generous donations.  

On November 21^st Ideal Lodge held BRING A FRIEND NIGHT/OPEN HOUSE with 9 members and 10 visitors and guest present.  Abbreviated business was conducted and then we went into the Bring A Friend ceremony.  Rt. W B Lupo delivered an excellent Bring a Friend talk and then answered some questions.  He then turned the remainder of the question and answer portion over to WB Skip Perez, Sec., DGL 18^th District.  WB Perez explained as much as he could about the Officer Lineup, the other bodies in Masonry and each of their philanthropies.  Everyone present stated that the talks were very informative and Ideal Lodge did receive one petition from this event!
