| I aim to teach my students to explore symbols, ideas, and techniques in their artmaking. The work will invite interpretation, draw upon memory and imagination. Some of them will work out their images long enough to see them consciously. "Some will be a mystery to them because most events in their lives are absorbed subliminaly." Carl Jung Therefore, where do you start? Well this is what this course is about. For the next seven weeks, starting January 10th, 2001 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. you will ask yourself why do you keep looking at the same object over and over again? "We are mere echoes of the universe, we are unable to capture more than fragments, even ciphers of fragments in our most exalted moments". From the Universe Story by Swimme and Berry. On Saturday February 10th and Saturday February 17th, 2001 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. we will be offering our 2nd Annual Papier Mache Workshop at the School of Ideas Studio. All you need to bring is lunch. Call for more details and to register.
