Search Multiple Indexes by Keyword Using All-In-One and Meta-Crawler Tools
Somewhat analogous to Swiss army knives, the following services (a
choice from amongst some 165+ services world wide) allow you to search diverse
indexes using a common user interface. These "one-stop shopping" resources
are sometimes classified as CUSI (Configurable Unified Search Index) or
SUSI
(Simultaneous Unified Search Index). With a CUSI, you choose from a list
of several databases, but usually you can search only one database at a
time. A SUSI allows simultaneous searching of several databases.
Keep in mind that the full range of search features supported by each database,
for example the AND and OR operators, may not be available from CUSIs and
SUSIs. Response time may be slower, too. Our suggestion: Choose a
different service each time you come to this page until you've used them all and
can make an intelligent "best choice"!
