The technology
involved in the design, development and evaluation of human learning process,
based on social, ethical and psychological principles to attain specific
objectives.
Technology comprises of different
purposes and processes. It provides the relationship between the various
components of established knowledge in the field of education.
It
also involves design-process. This process is a sequential process, which
begins with the perception of a need. It progresses to the formulation of a
specific plan involving generation of ideas and a solution, ending with an
overall evaluation.

Development
of Programmed Instruction:
The basic characteristics of procedure:
·
Breaking down the task
(content) to be learned into small sequential steps.
·
Presenting the organized
material to the individual learners (sometime by machine process) in such a way
that he must respond correctly to each step before continuing to the next.
·
Informing the learner of
the correctness of his response; and in some variation.
·
Selecting the next step for
the learner in terms of the correctness or incorrectness of his previous
response.
