Study Skills For Information Retrieval

I’ll give u a book about this topic tomorrow.

Technology and its instructional potential

Television, computer, networks, telecommunications, teleconferences, software, databases, further developments etc…

The role of research in educational technology

Intangible aspect of technology, asking the right questions about educational technology, challenges involved in researching, research design etc..

Use Of Computers

Why computer?, Is the computer place in the lab or classroom?, computer for different classes and different types of schools, or in different settings. Hard copy vs softcopy. Educational software application, etc..

Surviving the information explosion (Researching on the world wide web)

Search engines, sources on the web, ethical and authenticity aspects, using web, Internet applications. Online Learning, Virtual campuses, how they work, design and development of e-learning websites, emails, chat servers, etc…

Educational technology and economic factors,

Is it too much expensive? How can it become cost effective?

Educational technology and social issues

Rights and responsibilities, intercultural influences, misuse of the technology, how to secure?, ethical issues, etc…

INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY

The technology involved in the design, development and evaluation of human learning process, based on social, ethical and psychological principles to attain specific objectives.

Technology comprises of different purposes and processes. It provides the relationship between the various components of established knowledge in the field of education.

It also involves design-process. This process is a sequential process, which begins with the perception of a need. It progresses to the formulation of a specific plan involving generation of ideas and a solution, ending with an overall evaluation.

Development of Programmed Instruction:

The basic characteristics of procedure:

·        Breaking down the task (content) to be learned into small sequential steps.

·        Presenting the organized material to the individual learners (sometime by machine process) in such a way that he must respond correctly to each step before continuing to the next.

·        Informing the learner of the correctness of his response; and in some variation.

·        Selecting the next step for the learner in terms of the correctness or incorrectness of his previous response.
