Course Contents:

UNIX : introduction, Basic UNIX commands, UNIX file system, Ownership and protection, Processes and pipes.

Text manipulation : Editors vi, ex and ed, shell as a programming language, Programming tools, System administration.

Programming in C : Overview and history of C, Structure of a C program, Data types, Operations and expression, Control constructs, Arrays, Basic I/O, Advanced features and programming techniques, Functions, Scope rules, Recursion, Dynamic data structures in C, Structures, unions, File handling, C preprocessor, C standard library and header files.
