5. Capt Matthew³ BARKLEY (William Morrow², Matthew¹ BARCLAY) was born in Nth Ireland 1837. Matthew died 18 September 1919 in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl, at 82 years of age.

He married Eleanor JOHNSTONE in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl, 10 September 1868. Eleanor was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 6 February 1843. Eleanor was the daughter of Thomas ("Whinfield" and "Glenfield") JOHNSTONE and Eleanor GLENFIELD. Eleanor died 1914 in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl, at 71 years of age. She was christened in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl, 27 Feburary 1843.

Capt Matthew BARKLEY and Eleanor JOHNSTONE had the following children:

7 i. Margaret Thompson⁴ BARKLEY was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 1869. Margaret died 19 February 1911 in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl, at 41 years of age.

8 ii. William Morrow BARKLEY was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 21 March 1871. William died 13 June 1893 at 22 years of age.

+ 9 iii. Capt Thomas Johnstone BARKLEY was born 1873.

10 iv. Mathew BARKLEY was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 1875 no. 6 666.

11 v. Rowan BARKLEY was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 1877 no. 1 649.

12 vi. Eleanor Glenfield Johnston (Nellie) BARKLEY was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 1878 June Q 1 652. She married Harry LOWRY. ) in Dublin, Ireland.. (See Harry LOWRY for the continuation of this line.)
