He married Eliza JOHNSTONE in Nth Ireland. Eliza was born in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl 15 November 1827. Eliza was the daughter of James ("Longfield") JOHNSTONE and Jane (Jenny) HUNTER. She was christened in Carrickfergus, Nth Irl, 25 November 1827.

David MCCALMONT and Eliza JOHNSTONE had the following children:
