| Ultra-wise Lucas one night closes Empire Records only to find amongst the store manager's belongings a business statement that states that EMPIRE RECORDS IS BEING SOLD TO RECORD TOWN! "The time to hesitateth is through." - Lucas - So in the ultimate quest to save the store, Lucas steals all the money in the vault and the days deposit for the bank and goes to Atlantic City. After a lucky roll at the Craps table Lucas decides to let the money ride and loses everything...including their futures. As the world caves in on Lucas and his co-workers, all hell breaks loose as the everyday problems of being a teenager explode, wreaking havoc on the workers and customers of Empire Records. Will the store-manager Joe be able to scrounge up enough money to save the business he has grown to love? Will Corey lose her virginity to the horrifyingly unhip Rex Manning? Will Gina ever sing in a band? Will AJ ever confess his love to Corey? Will Lucas ever be able to part with the couch he has so grown attached to? |

| On a scale from 1-10 I'd say that Empire Records deserves a 9 at least. It falls short of a perfect 10 due to the fact that although it was enjoyable it was missing something to prevent me from saying its the best movie around...and ONLY the best movie around deserves a Perfect 10. The film is rated PG-13...so all you younguns that view this page, this movie is not for you...unless you're 13 or older that is. There is some adult language...and I guess you can say mature situations that some parents might not want their kids to see. However there isn't anything in this film that you have not seen before in a PG-13 film. Thankfully I would not consider this film to be just another teen movie...but a fun loving film with a kick ass soundtrack. So take a look at the film...didn't like it...TAKE ANOTHER. Trust me its worthy of your attention, and hopefully worthy enough to be a part of your video collection. |
