Vacation  by Grandpa Chuck

This will be my last post for the week.  We are taking some vacation time and traveling to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to visit the Grandchildren and see the fall colors.  The "Yoppers", as the residents in Da UP call themselves, are a lot of fun to be around and it should be a good time.  The "Trolls", those of us living in the Lower Peninsula, are looked down upon by the Yoppers but I can act the part and fit right in with with the rest of the Yoopers front license plate on my car.

A lot has changed over the years in the UP of Michigan but a lot has stayed the same too.   I understand the new rage in housing is the "High Rise" home.

Familes activities are big part of life in the UP and always have been.  Here are a couple neighbors playing toilet seat.  It plays a lot like horse shoes but you use toilet seats instead.

Speaking of toilet seats even the plumbers get into the spirit with their trucks up there in the UP of Michigan!
