Surfing The Internet   by Grandpa Chuck

It still amazes me the amount of informational and just fun sites that are available on the Internet.

I needed some information on Parkinson's Disease. Off I went to Dr Koop my online source for medical information. There are a number of other similar sites. I could have checked it out at WebMD also. I didn't know that "lead" could cause an increase in the disease as can contact with "solvents".

Next it was off to Quicken to see how my 401K was doing. I have it set up in a FREE portfolio that keeps track of my losses. <smile> Anyway it seems that way the past few months, the mutual fund prices are going up a little and down a lot.

Always being interested in Grandparents' crowd I stopped in at Seniors and Grandparents News to see what was new.

Next stop was my Bravenet Journal to see who added a message to my Tag Board.  While I was there of course I visited all my Favorite Journals to keep up on what is happening.  "Enquiring minds want to know!", they say.

My wife yelled, "What's the weather going to be for tomorrow?" A quick click and I was viewing the weather at our local TV station's web site. I also checked the weather forecast at The Weather Channel and Wunderground Weather.

Then I was off to iWon to get in on the new sweepstake. I checked out the local movies and news. I also checked the weather while I was there. When I tell the wife the forecast I'd better be right.

The grandson stopped by and of course it was off to Cartoon Network. The two of us talked and we played a few games on their site while he was here.

The best part of my surfing experience was that I got access to what I wanted right away and it was free. I'm sure you have favorite sites you visit for information and just for fun.

When the need comes up for a fast fact or even a more detailed account of a subject don't forget it is right there in your home waiting for you on the Internet.
