Hunter & Poquita

Hi there! Our names are Hunter and Poquita, and we came into IG Rescue in Cleveland at the beginning of April. We're hoping that the perfect forever home(s) is just out there waiting for us... could it be yours?

We've been together for five years, so we would be very happy if someone was interested in adopted both of us together. But our foster mom is also willing to adopt us to separate homes, especially if there is IG/canine companionship for each of us in our new home!

Hello, I'm Hunter! I was adopted through IG Rescue five years ago, and I'm now a senior gentleman of nine years old. I am extremely sweet and loving, and my tail is always wagging! My foster mom wonders how I can possibly be nine years old, because I have the playfulness of a dog half that age. I love to run around and play with the other dogs, even though I haven't picked up a toy yet... maybe you can be the one to teach me how to play with toys? I'm an extremely happy boy and really want to please my person. I'm a little nervous in new situations and around new people; I cower a little if someone raises their voice, but as soon as I know everything's okay, my tail starts wagging all over again. I'm a big IG, weighing in at 19 pounds, but I still try to curl up and lay between my foster mom and the other dogs. My only issue is that I've had a couple of instances of trying to mark in my foster home, but we are working on that. For now, wearing a belly band keeps me in line just fine! I will make an absolutely wonderful companion for my new person.

And I'm Poquita, a little lady of seven years old who came from a breeder. (How adorable am I, all snuggled in the dog bed that my former owners made for me?) My foster mom describes me as "pure sweetness!" I'm very laid back and prefer to be curled up in a dog bed somewhere, rather than in the middle of the action, and would prefer a home with a more laid back canine companion. The puppy in my foster home is driving me crazy! I do like to play, but just for brief periods.  I've been extremely good about going potty outside here in my foster home; I haven't had a single accident. Like my brother, I am extremely affectionate, and would make a terrific lap dog!

We both have a history of seizures, but they are very infrequent... only about every six months, and easily controlled with a good diet. We'll both be having our dentals soon; like many senior IGs, our teeth aren't so great. We're both missing our top front teeth, and might lose a couple more during our dentals.

But what we're missing in teeth, we more than make up for in personality! We are both extremely sweet and love to lounge around and snuggle with our people. If you've ever had a senior IG, you know that with an average lifespan of 13-15 years, we both have many years to look forward to, not to mention so much happiness and love to offer to our new people!

If you are interested in adopting a terrific dog (or two), please e-mail Melissa and let her know!
