Maverick

We rescued our first IG, Polo, from a family in Buffalo NY, and had decided it would be nice to get a playmate for him. We got in touch with IG Rescue and Angela, and she found the perfect match for us. Maverick was being fostered with a great couple (Sandy and John) in the Cleveland area, and we brought him home in April of 2004.

When Maverick first came home, Polo didn't want anything to do with him, but that has definitely changed with time. Here they are together (photo, right).

Mav is a great IG. His housetraining has gone very well, and he has a new nickname -- Mad Dog! That's not a bad thing, it's just the name we gave him because he's crazy. He loves to run and chase Polo around the house, and when we come home he actually does backflips because he's so glad to see us. We have three teenage children, and Maverick is a great fit with our family.

My sister also adopted an IG, Sierra, through Angela, so now we each have two IGs. When we get them all together, it's really fun to watch them chase each other! If you're thinking of adopting an IG, be careful, because they are like potato chips -- you can't stop at just one.

Maverick is a great dog and is part of the family now -- he's spoiled rotten, just like Polo. We can't understand how someone could have given him up, but we're glad they did!
