Rocky

This picture (coming soon) is of me on my first Christmas with my new mom. I was outside for potty right before this photo was taken -- I let mom take off my sweater, but shee couldn't get the harness off fast enough for me. I wanted to get into that stocking right away! I stuck my whole head inside, as far as it would go. I bypassed the toys and went straight for the bags of treats, although I really liked the bunny that my grandma got me!

I spent the first 4 1/2 years of my life in Kansas City, in a family with a teenager and a Schnauzer. But when my family moved, they couldn't take me along. I was fostered by a wonderful lady named Esther for six months, and she was tempted to keep me for herself even though a lot of people had inquired about me -- can you blame her? But then when my new mom contacted her, Esther knew that it felt right. I quickly made myself right at home, and have even made friends with the two male dogs next door, a Bichon Frise and a Chihuahua!

I have a ferret sister named LingLing! She loves going camping with the family, which is where she is in the picture here. Mom and I were having a battle of wills for a little while as I kept breaking in to LingLing's cage to eat all of her food, but mom says that I seem to have gotten past that, for now at least! I was also having some separation anxiety issues, but mom and I have been working on that with a behavior specialist from our vet hospital. lingling.jpg (23150 bytes)

Mom reports that I have had a thorough dental cleaning and I look and smell marvelous now! I had some really bad tartar build-up that was starting to hurt me when I chewed. Now mom maintains my healthy teeth by brushing regularly with yummy dog toothpaste.

One morning when there was a delay for work/school, mom got to sleep in a little. When she woke up, she looked and saw LingLing's head on the pillow to her right and my head on the pillow to her left. We weren't even disturbed when she got out of bed. "What lazy bums" says mom. Ah yes, is this the life or what?
