- Slightly more technical articles
- Report of the Expert Committee on the Diagnosis and Classification of Diabetes Mellitus (ADA--This has some interesting information about IGT, like "Note that many individuals with IGT are euglycemic in their daily lives (122) and may have normal or near normal glycated hemoglobin levels (123). Individuals with IGT often manifest hyperglycemia only when challenged with the oral glucose load used in the standardized OGTT.")
- The Natural History of Type 2 Diabetes: Practical Points to Consider in Developing Prevention and Treatment Strategies (ADA--This is a great article that talks, in part, about how IGT progresses to Type 2.)
- Impaired glucose tolerance and pregnancy outcome in Chinese women with high body mass index (PDF file--From the journal Human Reproduction. I was idly curious if my having IGT would put me at a higher risk of developing GD should I ever find myself pregnant. This was the best answer I could find. I'm going to assume that the conclusion applies to average weight Caucasian women as well.)
