Carousel is an old musical about a dead guy who gets a chance to go back to earth for one day (or ten minutes screen time): during his life, he beat his wife and got killed when he fell on his own knife during a botched robbery.
The songs are terrible; there's endless ballet on docks and beaches and backlot sets, and you only see the titular carousel for about 45 seconds.

And worst of all, Shirley Jones tells her 15 yr. old daughter that it's possible for "someone to hit you really hard" and not have it hurt: a sure endorsement for spousal abuse.
