THE EL HAJJ MALIK EL SHABAZZ (MALCOLM X) HUMAN RIGHTS FUND
The El Hajj Malik El Shabazz (Malcolm X) Human
Rights Fund has been established by IHRAAM to finance thetravel
of African American human rights advocates to the United Nationsand to
pay for an international communications and secretariate service to coordinate
interaction between the U.N. and the activity of the African American communities.
Although theFund is administered by IHRAAM Chair, Dr. Y. N. Kly, UN-related
travel grants will be equally available from the fund to any African American
organized activity seeking UN assistance for the realization of African
American human rights and self-determination. We ask all individuals,
groups and organizations to donate to this Fund.
This fund is needed to complete Malcolm's most
serious project of movingthe African
American struggle from civil rights to human rights.Although
IHRAAM and other African-American organizations have beenworking
on this project over the past ten years, they have been greatlyhandicapped
by not being able to have sufficient follow through representation inGeneva at key moments in time in order to have
the UN assist in guaranteeing African Americans their fundamental
human right to self-determination as called for, particularly
in Articles 1 and 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political
Rights.
YOUR DONATION TO THE EL HAJJ MALIK
EL SHABAZZ (MALCOLM X) HUMAN RIGHTS FUND WOULD BE THE MOST SINCERE MEMORIAL
TO OUR DEAR BROTHER, TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE IN SUPPORT OF
HIS CHIEF OBJECTIVES:
SHIFTING THE AFRICAN AMERICAN
STRUGGLE
FROM CIVIL TO HUMAN RIGHTS
PROVIDING AFRICAN AMERICANS WITH
THE MOST FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHT
THAT ONLY ENSLAVEMENT COULD DENY
THEM, AND
WHICH HAS NOT YET BEEN FULLY RECOGNIZED:
THE RIGHT TO SELF-DETERMINATION
'The non-recognition of this fundamental
right by a state negates the possibility for democracy, other human rights,
or societal peace and development.'
