Chapter
2
'Mike,
got get me a cup of tea please.' Cake said, as she rubbed Mike's arm.
'No.'
'what?!'
'Haha,'
Mike laughed. 'Just kidding!' he got up and walked into the
kitchen.
They were now at home and Cake was exhausted after the buzz of the
past few
days.
Mike
came in and gave Cake a cup of tea and a biscuit.
'Awww,
thanks hunny!'
Chris
was sat at home, he was all alone, thinking. He was constructing a
plan
on how he would get Cake.
'Okay.
First I get rid of Mike. Should be easy. Not hard. Then Cake has to
like
me. Maybe a bit harder. Hmm, don’t care.'
Chris
was talking and shouting to himself. Sat by the window, pretty much
everything
could be heard outside the window. Passer bys looked in the
window
in puzzlement. Christian looked out the window and blushed.
Mark
was downstairs making breakfast he decided to bring Nat breakfast in
bed,
as she was fast asleep. He quietly made the toast and put it on the
tray.
He climbed the stairs and opened his bedroom door. Nat had just woken
up and
was sitting propping herself up on the bed.
“Hey,” Nat said. “I've just woken
up. I was just about to wonder where you were!”
Nat
grinned and Mark walked over, tray in hand.
“Breakfast!”
“Awww, sweet! Yay! But come back
into bed.” Nat said, as she pulled back the covers for Mark to get in.
A
while later, when the pair had almost finished breakfast, they were
talking
about the past few days.
“Well, that was funny!” Mark
giggled.
“Yeah! Erm, Mark… have you noticed
anything…. Strange, about Chris recently?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well…” Nat said. “He seems a bit…
withdrawn? And, I dunno, I guess… a bit down.”
“Awww,” Mark put his arm around Nat.
“it’s sweet for you to worry about him. But he probably just misses
having a
girlfriend around. Being around what, 4 couples? It can’t be easy for
him.
“Yeah, maybe you’re right. But he
used to be okay with it. It’s just in the past few months he has seemed
really
depressed.” Nat said, worriedly.
“Well, yeah, that’s probably because
he thought it was okay cuz not everyone had someone. You know, Cake
hung around
with us before she got Mike. When Chris became the only single person
in the
gang, it probably became too much for him to smile about.”
“Okay.” Nat said, looking concerned.
“Aww, don’t worry about him.” Mark
smiled. He kissed Nat on the forehead and then tilted her chin up. “He
will
find someone.”
Nat
smiled at Mark and put her hand on his neck. She pulled him close to
her and
met his lips. As she kissed him, she felt a sink in her heart.
“I wish you didn’t have to work
today.” Nat whispered.
“Me too.”
A
depressing silence filled the air. Mark and Nat were sitting in bed
together,
hands linked tightly together. Nat fell back onto the pillow. She used
her free
hand to rub her face.
“I really hate having to say goodbye
to you.”
Mark
lay back with her. He squeezed her hand tight.
“Me too.”
“Not
today!”
“Tomorrow?”
“Maybe!
Hmm, I’ll ask Del!”
Carley
grinned. She absolutely loved going to work with Paul. Everything was
always
so, well, big. She loved the atmosphere and she loved being surrounded
by a
load of celebrities.
“What exactly are you doing tomorrow
anyway?”
“Disney channel” Paul groaned. “It’s
crap. But it will be just great with you!”
Carley
grinned at Paul and pinched his cheek.
“So what’s today?”
“Gay studio work.” Paul scowled.
Ben,
unlike the other guys, was still asleep. He lived closest to the
studio, and so
he didn’t have to wake up for another half hour yet. Rosanna was a bit
pissed
off at this because she always woke up early and this meant she had
ages to sit
and twiddle her thumbs.
Rosanna
climbed out of the bed and tiptoed around Ben’s flat. She decided to
text Cake.
If she could find her mobile. Oh, there it was. Under Ben’s jeans,
‘neatly’
screwed up in a heap on the floor. Rosanna threw the jeans onto Ben’s
bed and
picked up her mobile. She found message composer and typed a message to
send to
Cake.
“Hey Cake!
What’s Mike
doing 2day?
Bens goin
studio. Grr!
Wanna go
sumwhere wiv
the others?
Tx Bk! Luv
roro xoxo”
Rosanna put her phone on the counter in Ben’s kitchen. She carefully put 2 slices of bred into the toaster and stood anxiously. She frowned as she stared at the toaster. She had never trusted toasters, as she had experienced nothing but negativity from toasters in the past. As the toast popped out, Rosanna jumped. She breathed a sigh of relief and walked towards the toaster. As she reached out to pick up the toast, a sudden sound rocked her soul. She jumped in the air as she thought maybe the toaster was electrocuting her and she was dying. Of course, it was just her mobile bleeping.
“Aww! Sowie, I cant cuz I’m goin home
2c my mum!
Boysterous goin to asia!
Asia will luv them. Ttys! Xxx”
Rosanna giggled and sighed. She popped a slice of toast in her mouth as she felt a pair of cold hands slip around either side of her.
“Good morning babe.” Ben kissed Rosanna on her neck as he pulled her back towards him.
“Heya! Good sleep?” Rosanna asked as she turned her head to kiss Ben.
“Of course. You were with me!”
“Are you saying I bore you?!” Rosanna unconvincingly tried to look insulted and shocked.
“No! I’m saying you wear me out!” Ben said with a cheesy wink.
Rosanna started to blush but attempted to cover it up. She rolled her eyes and muttered something about Ben’s cheesy wink being gross. She pulled away from Ben’s grip and hit him on the arm.
An hour or so later, all the guys met up outside the studio. Ben turned up to the studio with Rosanna and Paul pulled a face at Ben.
“Hey! No girls allowed!” Paul yelled at Rosanna.
Rosanna was partly taken aback. But mostly not.
“Paul shut up.” Ben scowled.
“Yeah, shut up. I’ll be of in a mo’ anyway. Then you can have Ben all to yourself!”
Paul grinned and went to say something but Ben shot him a look and he decided not to.
“So… where are Nat and Carley today?” Chris asked to everyone in general.
“Well I’m about to go shopping with them.” Rosanna smiled to Chris.
“Oh. Cool. Great. Erm… so where’s Cake?”
“Oh, today she has gone home. I think she’s gonna spend the day with her mum. Mike’s going to Asia today, she said. I expect when she’s back from home she will stay in the house, keep Mike’s cat company!” Rosanna laughed. A couple of the others laughed and Chris nodded to himself thoughtfully.
Ben turned to Rosanna and took her hands in his.
“Okay, sweetie, listen ok. Take care of yourself and the girls.” Ben told Rosanna intently as he looked deep into Rosanna’s eyes. Rosanna suddenly burst out laughing and held Ben’s face in her hands.
“Ben! I’ll be fine. Go and sing songs!”
Ben didn’t look convinced.
“Hmm, ok. I love you.” Ben pulled Rosanna against him and kissed her.
“Bye hunny! Don’t forget to eat.” Rosanna warned.
A little later, Chris was sat in the studio, thinking. Cake would be all alone tomorrow. Surely she could do with some company. Chris almost cackled. Things were coming together perfectly.
The day dragged for pretty much everyone. At the end of the day, the guys met up with the girls. For once, Chris wasn’t upset and depressed. He didn’t mind all the couple-ness. He would be perfectly happy very soon.
When Chris awoke the next day, he grinned. Today was the day. Today he would get Cake! He leapt up at the thought and ran into the shower.
When he came out the shower, he went through his closet. Eh threw a light grey shirt on the bed. He stared at it hard and intently as he started to mumble to himself. He picked up a pair of faded jeans, laid them out on the bed with the shirt and continued to mumble. He suddenly stopped mumbling, stood very attentive and started to dress.
Chris put his sunglasses on and left his house. As he locked the door, he couldn’t help but smile. He walked out to his car in the driveway and got in. he looked in the mirror and grinned at his reflection. When he started the engine, he had a thought. Did he remember where Cake and Mike shared their home? Where did they live? He racked his brain and the image of a house came into his mind and he started to drive. He wasn’t sure if he was going to the right house, even though he had been there a million times. But when did he ever care where Mike lived anyway?
“Right. I think it’s this way…” Chris mumbled to himself as he passed the traffic lights and turned left. As he drove down the road, he saw a familiar house. Ah, this is the house he was thinking of. He pulled up in front of the house that might be Cake and Mikes. He climbed out of the car, locked it, and walked up to the front door. He adjusted his sunglasses on his nose and wiped his forehead. He knocked on the door and waited tensely. Seconds and even maybe minutes passed with no answer.
Darnit.
Chris was just about to walk off when Cake appeared at the door.
“Hiya Chris! Come in.”
“Hey, thanks.”
Cake couldn’t help but feel a bit confused. Why was he here anyway? He didn’t seem to ever be interested in forming a friendship with Mike. And why would he want to see her?
“Erm, Mike’s not here…”
“Actually,” Chris started, as he cleared his throat. “I’m here to see you Cake.”
“…Me?”
“Erm, yeah, can I talk with you please?”
“Sure.” Cake said as she tried to decide whether to feel nervous or not. “We can talk in the bedroom.”
Let the record show, she suggested that, not him.
“Sure,” Chris grinned to himself as he followed Cake into the bedroom. It was big; downstairs it was, with French doors to a lovely part of the garden. Cake sat on the bed and Chris followed.
“Okay, erm, Kayleigh,” Chris started. Uh oh. This was serious. “I have this…dilemma. I was thinking maybe you could help me with it. See, I’m kinda depressed at the moment, which you may or may not have realised-” Chris paused as he thought of what to say next.
“Well, anyway, there’s actually something that can cheer me up. I have to get it. I will get it! Anyway, I think you and Mike may have it. Do you think I may be able to have it?”
Cake looked very confused. Cake was very confused. What was he talking about? He wasn’t talking sense.
“Erm, well, Chris, yeah I guess you can if it will make you happy. But what exactly is it that you are talking about?”
Chris smiled as she said this and leapt forward at Cake and kissed her. Cake was too shocked to even move.
“She isn’t pulling away!” Chris thought to himself.
Cake pulled away.
“Chris! What the hell do you think you are doing?!”
“You are what I want Cake. I need you.” Chris said as he put his hand on Cake’s arm.
Cake stared at him in disbelief. She was very confused.
Chris leaned in to kiss Cake again, but she moved out the way.
“Christian! This is unacceptable, I have a boyfriend!” Cake cried at Chris.
“He doesn’t have to find out…” Christian said as he stroked Cake’s face. Cake angrily grabbed his wrist and threw it down.
“Christian! Stop it!” Cake said and walked off from Christian. He followed her to the other side of the bedroom. He was behind her and he placed his hands on her hips and kissed her neck.
“Christian leave me alone!” Cake angrily cried as she ran out the room. Chris ran ahead of her and locked the front door. He opened the small window above the door and threw the key out.
“No escaping Cake. I meant it when I said I’ll get what I want.”
Cake ran her fingers threw her hair and she sighed.
“Christian what is your problem?”
“I have no problem. I am fine. As far as I can see, you’re the one with the problem. What are you gonna do? Call your gay boyfriend? Oh, that’s right. He’s out of the country. What a shame.” Chris smiled and walked towards Cake. He looked into her eyes and he could almost feel her fear.
Cake was desperately trying to think of a way out of here. Chris had gone psycho and the sooner she got out, the better. She then remembered the French doors in the bedroom. She quickly ran in there to escape to the garden, but her heart sunk when she tried the doors, and they were locked. To her horror, she turned around to find Chris standing in the doorway.
“Finally! I have got you where I want you.” Chris grinned at her and advanced towards her. Cake watched with great fear and Chris got closer and closer to her. She was afraid to move and tears started to flow down her cheek.
“Christian, please, just leave me alone!”
Chris shook his head and chuckled. He suddenly gripped Cake by her sides, holding Cake tighter than she had ever felt. He forced his hand up her top and forcefully kissed her as she tried to scream. She tried to push him off, but he took his hand from up her top and grasped both of her hands. He pushed her down onto the gorgeous 4-poster bed she shared with Mike. Chris stood up and looked around.
“You move,” Chris scowled, “it will only get worse.”
Chris walked over to where Mike’s dirty clothes had been piled. He picked up two of Mike’s ties and walked back over to Cake. Cake looked at the blue silk tie in Christian’s hand. She sobbed as she remembered the times she had shared with Mike wearing that tie. She remembered taking that blue silk tie off Mike’s neck and throwing it across the room. She remembered how he wore it just to make her smile. She remembered tying it for him the day that he met her parents.
Chris grabbed Cake’s arm from the right of the bed where he was standing. She tried to break free but his grip overcame all her strength. He tied her right wrist to the bedpost. He ran to the other side of the bed. Cake tried to reach over and untie her wrist but Chris quickly made it to the left of the bed and grabbed her left wrist. He tied it to the left bedpost and Cake started to cry. Christian climbed on top of her and kissed her harshly. He kept his mouth on hers to stop her crying out as she kicked her legs as violently as she could. Chris sat up and sat on Cake’s legs. Cake tried to kick him off, but she couldn’t pick up enough energy, and her legs went dead. As soon as Christian felt Cake stop struggling underneath him, he got off her and started to undress himself. Cake tightly closed her eyes and pretended that she wasn’t here, in this situation. She tried her hardest to pretend. However, she failed, as Chris started to undress her the best he could.
“See,” Chris said. “The less struggle, the less pain.”
Cake closed her eyes as tight as she could. She tried her best to breathe and she bit her bottom lip.
“Mike, I need you.” She whispered through her tears.
