Cake
was on her side with her back to Chris. She was frozen in a ball on the bed.
All she could do to function was stare into space with
the occasional scraping blink. She could hear slight movements from Chris as he
put his clothes on.
“Bye.” Chris whispered in Cake’s
ear. His breath clouded her skin and she shuddered. She heard him get the spare
keys from the kitchen (how did he know they were there?) and he exited the
house. The sound of the door slamming echoed and introduced the painful
silence.
There
she was.
Left alone in the silence. No movement, no voice,
nothing to snap her out of her trance. She was paralysed with shock and fear
and she could barely think out of fear.
The silence Cake was left in was
deafening. The screaming silence was unbearable, the only sounds existing being
those of her breathing, and the occasional sob.
Suddenly, her silence was broken by
the sound of her mobile ringing.
Snapped
out of paralysis, Cake stumbled off the bed. She attempted to stand but her
legs were so weak she ended up in a heap on the floor. She sobbed and wiped her
eyes. She grabbed onto the bed with one hand, and on to the windowsill with the
other hand and pulled herself up. She managed to stand and she started to
stumble towards the hall. As she stood in the doorway from the bedroom to the
hall, she balanced herself against the wall with her left hand. She ran her
eyes across the hall and put her right hand to her forehead. Her mind flashed
back to the previous morning when she had said goodbye to Mike. She had hugged
him tightly and told him she loved him. She had turned his collar of his shirt
down and tidied his hair. She had placed her hands on his face and kissed him.
She had waved goodbye to him out the door until his car was no longer in sight.
Cake
walked towards the stairs as she started to collapse onto them. She was sobbing
uncontrollably as she picked up her phone, which was on the stairs.
She
pressed the missed call list.
Mike.
Oh
fuck. Mike.
Cake
broke down into floods of tears.
“Mike.”
Cake cried as she flopped into herself and cried.
Chris
went straight from Cake's to Disney channel. When he arrived, he
noticed everybody was already there and signing autographs.
'Nice of you to turn up Chris' Paul growled.
'Yeah, we came to pick you up.'
'Umm, I was at a friends house.'
The four guys advanced into the Disney channel building. Just inside the
door were Rosanna, Nat and Carley. They had arrived a long time before the
guys to prevent fan confrontation.
'About time!' Carley exclaimed as she took Paul by the
arm.
Chris sat in the studio, smiling. He had absolutely no regrets to what he
had done that morning.
'What are you grinning about?' Mark asked.
'Oh, nothing!' Chris smiled as he felt the keys to
Cake's house in his
pocket.
After the interview, Chris decided he would go and visit Cake. To see if
she was okay. Yeah, that was it. He needed to check she was okay. As he
drove, he thought about Mike. How would he feel if he knew while he was
doing what he loved, performing, the love of his life was getting raped by
someone who was meant to be her friend? Chris frowned. He remembered how
scared Cake had looked. He then thought about how much pain he had put her
through. He then thought about how much pain he had felt everytime he saw
Mike and Cake touch, everytime he saw them kiss. Surely that made it fair.
Yeah, of course it did.
When he arrived at Cake's, he looked at himself in the car mirror. He
tidied his hair a bit and grinned. He climbed out of the car and walked
towards Cake's door. He was about to knock, when he remembered he had the
keys in his pocket. He chuckled to himself and unlocked the door.
'Mike?!' Cake whispered, still sitting on the
stairs. Her eyes filled
with fright and horror as she saw Christian appear at the door.
'No, Chris, please! Just leave me alone!' Cake started to sob.
'Hey chill, i'm just hear to see if you are
okay!' Christian sat down next
to Cake and ran his cold fingertips over her arm.
'Stop it.' she sobbed as she turned away.
'Hey, look, it will only hurt more if you struggle!' Chris said as he
squeezed her thigh.
'You
can open your eyes now!'
'Okay.' Mark whispered to Nat.
'you like?' Nat smiled.
'Oh...wow! Sweetheart, this is beautiful!'
Nat had set up a dusk picnic for Mark in his back garden. It was huge; food
everywhere, with a huge blanket in the middle.
'Aww, baby, this is so sweet! But...' Mark hesitated.
'What is it Markie?' Nat frowned.
'It’s just... you will think i’m being stupid. But it
feels like I should be
doing this. Not you.'
'Awww, Mark, doing be stupid. You don't have the time to do anything like
this, besides, I don’t mind being the man in the relationship' Nat grinned.
Mark frowned.
'No, Nat. it should be me. What does that make me? I can’t be the female. I
don’t have a big enough chest.'
Nat grinned at Mark.
'Oh shut up.'
She hit him gently and they went to sit down.
Chris climbed off of Cake and left her lying there, on her back. Her tear
stained face was blotchy and Chris warned her he would be back. With that
he left, leaving Cake surrounded by the deafening silence once again. This
time, Cake had decided that Chris was gonna do what he wanted with or
without force, so there was no point putting up a fight. Believe it or not,
Chris was right. The more she struggled the more pain it caused. But, here
she was again. Being forced to share intimacy with someone she didn’t care
about. Sharing something with Chris that she had only ever
shared with
Mike. Except it wasn’t the same. With Mike, she felt good. There were making
love. But with Chris, it was just him expressing hormonal anger on her.
He
didn’t care about her or her feelings, all he cared
about was himself. She
was going through pure hell as she looked up and saw the soul of the devil
is Christian’s eyes. He grinned whilst she cried. He laughed whilst she
screamed. He was doing what he wanted; she was slowly sinking into hell.
