If I could Be King
Chapter 2
Lisa walked into Tim’s office and sat down.
"Lisa, hello," said Tim.
"Hi," replied Lisa a little nervous.
"Well, I heard you sing and play the piano and I think your brilliant," said Tim.
"Thank you," replied Lisa going a bit red.
"Well I would like to offer you a contract for your singing, solo of course," said Tim, "So are you interested?"
"Yeah, course I am!" shouted Lisa in excitement. Tim handed her a piece of paper with her contract on to sign. Lisa quickly read it and then signed it.
"Well now your also signed with Virgin Records too," said Tim, "Do you have any songs written already?"
"I have loads," replied Lisa.
"Great well, come to my office tomorrow and show me some, oh and I’ll get someone in to help you edit them and other things," said Tim standing up, Lisa stood up from her chair too and shuck Tim’s hand.
"See you tomorrow then," said Tim smiling. Lisa nodded and walked out.
Lisa walked back to Sarah’s flat. Lisa was staying with Sarah for a while because she didn’t have a flat of her own, but she needed one. Lisa let herself in, Sarah wasn’t there. She walked over to the phone and picked it up, she was about to dial a number, but then she stopped and put the phone down. She then turned towards the paper that was placed on the table next to the phone. She picked it up and then looked inside it for flats, but there wasn’t any. Just then Sarah walked through.
"Well done!!!!" shouted Sarah running over to Lisa to hug her.
"Thanks," replied Lisa.
"I bumped into Tim coming out of work and he told me, you must be so happy," said Sarah sitting down next to Lisa.
"Yeah....I guess I am," replied Lisa looking a bit sad.
"what’s up?" asked Sarah.
"I don’t know how to tell my parents, they don’t even like the idea of me going to a music school, so they’re aren’t going to like me having a record deal now," replied Lisa.
"Lisa, your parents are in Norway, don’t tell them, they won’t find out too soon, just tell them when you get a number one and then they can’t do anything about it," suggested Sarah.
"But that’s not very fair," replied Lisa.
"Yeah, but it’s not very fair of your parents to hate the idea of your dream," said Sarah.
"I guess," replied Lisa.
"Just leave them, and don’t worry," said Sarah. Lisa smiled again.
"Yeah, your right," replied Lisa.
The next day came and Lisa walked into Tim’s office, but Tim wasn’t inside, instead Ben was there sitting in Tim’s chair and swinging around on it, he didn’t notice Lisa come in and was still swinging around on Tim’s chair and basically being a kid again, or you could say still being a kid. Lisa made a little cough and Ben suddenly stopped and turned round.
"Lisa," he said slightly embarrassed.
"Hi," replied Lisa with a grin on her face.
"Tim’s ill today and I’m just in here-,"
"Having fun with his chair," added in Lisa with a giggle.
"Yeah..." replied Ben.
"Anyway, so what do I do now?" asked Lisa.
"I’m not sure, maybe stay here and keep me company," replied Ben. Lisa sat down at the chair in front of what now looked like Ben’s desk, when actually it was Tim’s desk.
"Tim wanted to read some of the songs I’ve wrote," said Lisa putting her folder full of songs down on the desk.
"OK, maybe you should leave them here with a note then or something, actually can I look at them?" asked Ben. Lisa handed Ben the folder.
"They look good, you have loads of talent" said Ben handing Lisa back her folder after he’d had a look at her songs.
"Thanks," replied Lisa and she sat back on her chair. Ben swung round on his chair.
"So, as we’re probably going to be bumping into each other a lot, tell me about yourself, where do you live and stuff?" asked Ben.
"Well at the moment I’m staying with a friend, Sarah actually, I need a flat though, really soon, I know Sarah is my mate and all, but sometimes she gets annoying, I think we’re starting to dislike each other a bit now because we’re spending too much time together, I really need to move out soon," replied Lisa. Ben suddenly got an idea.
"Would you like a flatmate?" he asked.
"Yeah, someone friendly, funny, kind and really nice," replied Lisa.
"I think I know someone that would like you to be their flatmate," said Ben, "His names Paul Marazzi," Lisa smiled.
"Paul?!" she asked.
"Yeah, he’s looking for a flatmate and your perfect, I know we’ll both go and meet up with him later," replied Ben.
"Thanks Ben," said Lisa getting up and she hugged Ben.
"It’s OK, I’m happy to help," replied Ben hugging Lisa back.
