“Wow!” Davina breathed into her
microphone, completely ignoring the flashing autocue. “They’ve been in the
house for up to half an hour, and already we’ve found out that Paul’s a dad,
Mark and Zee are married, Claire doesn’t get on with a1 or hype, and Christian’s
stolen someone from another guy. What on earth could be in store from them?
Well, for the moment it doesn’t matter, because Big Brother has a surprise in
store for them! In just a few moments, they will be asked to nominate the least
favoured housemate, and this person will leave the house tomorrow. Now,
usually, this doesn’t happen in Big Brother, but as it’s only a fortnight
charity show, we have to get the ball rolling as soon as possible.” Davina
smiled dazzlingly at the camera, and started to walk through the crowds. “It’s
time for voting, so-take it away, Big Brother!”
Inside the house, big brother
started speaking for the first time in the small series.
“Would Ben please come to the
diary room?”
Ben looked away from Zee, who
was still crying, and walked into the diary room.
“Alright Big Bro?” He sighed,
unexcited.
“Ben, what we are about to ask
you, you cannot repeat in any other part of the house or grounds. Would you
please nominate the member of the house you most want removed from Big Brother,
and please give us your reasons.”
Ben snorted.
“Easy. I’m nominating Claire
because she’s a bitch and I might catch something if I’m around her too long.”
There was a pause.
“Would you please give a valid
reason?”
“Fine. Claire and I are too
abrasive. And we will never be able to survive in this house together. It’s a
Harry Potter/Voldemort deal. I’m Harry, I have better hair.”
“Please repeat your nomination.”
“Claire.” Ben said, dragging
out the word as though he was talking to a small child.
“Thank you Ben, you may leave
the diary room.”
“Is that a request or a
command?”
“Ben, please leave the diary
room.”
He smiled endearingly, and
left, accosted almost at once by Paul.
“What did they want?”
“Not allowed to say. Sorry
mate.”
“What?”
“Well, you’re going to find out
anyway.” He shrugged as Christian was called by Big Brother, and made his way
to the diary room.
“Hello Christian.”
“Hello Big Brother.”
“Christian, you are not allowed
to repeat what is said in this room. Would you please nominate the member of
the house you most want removed from Big Brother, and please give your reasons.”
Christian blinked.
“Um . . . no one will find out
will they?”
“All that’s said in the diary
room is said in complete confidentiality.”
“Then . . . Ben. He’s a good
friend but . . . he’s not going to do well in here, not with all the people
that ended up in here. I think he needs more girls he doesn’t know.”
“Please repeat your nomination.”
“Ben.”
“Thank you Christian. You may
leave the diary room now.”
Christian smiled and returned
to Philippa, stepping over Ben and Paul as he went. Claire was then called.
“Claire, please do not repeat
what has been said in this conversation. Would you please nominate a member of
this house for eviction?”
“Ben.”
“Could you please give your
reasons?”
“Haven’t you seen how he treats
me? Besides, we have . . . well, something’s happened, I’d rather he wasn’t
around for me to relive it.”
“Please repeat your nomination.”
“Ben.”
“Thank you Claire. You may
leave the diary room now.”
The process continued for ten
more minutes, and while there was a steady stream of people moving between the
diary room and sitting area, they all collaborated in retrieving the food from
the storage room. After Zee left the diary room, still crying and receiving a
consoling hug from Scott, Big Brother spoke to all of them.
“The nominations for today and
tomorrow have been sorted. The nominations, in alphabetical order, are: Ben,
Claire, Darius, and Zee. Whoever is evicted will be leaving tomorrow evening.”
Ben shot up, spilling the crisps in
his lap.
“Who the fuck said me? And who
decided Zee too?”
Everyone else exchanged a look,
and Zee spoke from Scott’s chest.
“You won’t find out until you
leave Ben. Sorry.”
“Not your fault, is it babe? At
least when I’m out I won’t have to face . . .”He glanced at Claire. “Well,
wouldn’t have any rubbish.”
“Ben, you won’t be voted out.”
Jay compromised.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, too many girls like you.
Claire and Zee have the least chance of staying in if you ask me.”
Ben nodded, and sat on the
sofa, making sure to squash Claire’s legs. She yelped in pain, and wrestled
free to sit in one of the bedrooms.
