By the way, having never appeared on the show myself, I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes of blind date. I’m not even sure it’s recorded at Granada, it was the first one that popped into my head!

It was Saturday morning and Kaz and Sammie had gone down to Granada studios. Kaz had brought a suitcase full of Sammie’s things, but Sammie had made her carry it, so people wouldn't think she had fallen for the joke. They went in the main entrance, and Kaz walked up to reception.
      "Hi, this is Sammie, she's here for blind date. I'm her best friend Kaz." Sammie rolled her eyes, but she had to admit, Kaz went all out with her practical jokes. They were shown into a dressing room where Sammie was forced into one of her dresses. After about an hour, there was a knock at the door, and Cilla Black walked in.
      "Aye, chuck, are you excited?" She asked, looking at Sammie, who was gaping back. Kaz giggled.
      "She doesn't believe she's on the show" Cilla raised her eyebrows.
      "Well, you're picking a guy to date, I hope you have your three questions ready." She waved goodbye and went to greet the other guests.
      "Kaz, that-that-that-"
      "Was Cilla?"
      "Yeah. So I'm definately on the show then?" Kaz nodded, and lead her off to hair and make up, discussing which questions Sammie could ask.

Ben was the first of a1 to go into make up, where he promptly started chatting up the make up artist. She was just doing the finishing touches on his mouth (which was virtually impossible as he kept talking and blowing her kisses) when his mobile beeped with a text message.
      "Okay, if you sit still you can answer that sooner"
      "Add in your phone number and we have a deal" The make up artist rolled her eyes and giggled. She finished and cleared up, getting as far away from Ben as possible, who was now reading Paul’s text.
      "She's fit" Someone said to him. Ben looked up and smiled.
      "Yeah, I guess so"
      "Don't you think so? You were flirting with her"
      "I know. Not interested though"
      "Aren't you in a boyband?"
      "Sort of"
      "Why are you on here then?"
      "Why not?"
      The guys carried on talking as they walked out of the make up room.

      Sammie reached the make up room and saw two guys walking away in the other direction.
      "Hey, Kaz, doesn't that look like Ben a1?"
      "Don't get distracted, you have to pick a bloke remember?"
      "What if the Ben look-alike is in there?"
      "Then say you're an a1 fan"
      "And ask a question linked to a1?"
      "Why not?"
      "Erm, ok" Sammie settled down in her seat and waited for the make up lady to start work.
